Practically the perfection of the Nebbiolo grape aged in oak barrels. Fantastic quality for price since produced by the "cantina sociale" of Gattinara (wonderful place to visit for the annual festa dell'uva di gattinara when a fantastic dinner is also served at candlelit tables in the wine cellar amongst the barrels).

At tables. Jamara says more like 8. Chung and I say 9 — 11 years ago
Bras Hemmer nailed the description. I just drank the 2004 which is the current vintages. Love that it sat in barrels until recently. Nice tannins, but soft, not too elegant, but dusty smooth and lovely. Think maroon velvet lounge booths with dark tables and good jazz. — 11 years ago

Best Morgon Lapierre I've had since the 2010. A real crowd pleaser for xmas time tables; balanced and fresh. In magnum. — 10 years ago
One of my tables brought in this magnum. Great value and delicious wine. It's a solid representation Mercurey — 10 years ago
Thanks for the great dinner dad! This Burgundy had the catnip blend of sweet Pinot fruit, expensive cooperage and deep, cool earthiness that you can't get from anything else. Thanks @Charles Curtis for inspiring me to drink more of the "Original Grand Cru's of Burgundy" and thanks Silicon Babylon for letting me see both Tignanello and Insignia being drunk through straws at two different tables! — 10 years ago
I used to sell a lot of this waiting tables some years ago. Now I remember why. — 11 years ago
This was the wine we had on the tables at our wedding 3 and a half years ago. Still brings back fond memories! Flavorful, aromatic, good quality at an affordable price! — 11 years ago
"The tables facing the Lake Of Dreams are reserved two weeks in advance." Great wine and Ribeye with a great friend. Thanks for spending the day @John Trentacoste — 10 years ago

Not a fan of Barolo but blown away this was on the tables at our friends wedding. An expensive choice. Appreciated!

Incredible value, serious Sangiovese, an everyday bottle for all tables..#keifeandco — 10 years ago
1993 vintage. From Jay. the cork on this bottle was pulled approximately two hours prior to being decanted. the wine was poured immediately post decanting.
the colour of the wine immediately grabs your attention. a glorious ruby hue worthy of a gemstone. perfect translucency and frankly a joy to observe. pinot juice as perfect as it can possibly look, majestically glinting in the tables candle light. after being allowed to gently open in the glass the wine displayed a degree of feminine ferality in a most pleasant manner. with time this was complemented by fraises sauvages, crushed black forest fruits and cuban tobacco wrapper. the feral element continued to present through a very slight earthiness and tones of wild mushrooms. this eventually gave way to crushed violets and roses which eventually poured over the glass and across the table. quite wonderful. the body was full with great complexity and finesse. this wine has tremendous power. its balance was beguiling and the combination of femininity on the nose with a gracefully powerful structure and depth of fruit truly provided the best of both worlds with an astounding finish. this is an epic wine which frankly ticks every box and is certainly within its drinking window. the acidity and abundant levels fruit still mean that this wine has many years ahead of it but frankly i'd be hard pressed to hold off. in short, this is a dessert island wine. 100/100

Peachy, perfumey, very Californian Sauv Blanc. Bought a bottle for sharing at their picnic tables, as we'd done 2 years earlier. — 11 years ago
