I like everything about what these Long Shadow folks do. Fruity, big, tannic, opened up with some time, wanted more when the bottle ran out. — 10 years ago
I love the Long Shadow wines first and foremost. But this Syrah from Duval rocks and may out impress the other wines in the group. Big and super luscious. Could definitely stand more time in the cellar. Consumed over 36 hours. — 11 years ago
Jayer makes the best wines in off years just like 86. He says anyone can make a good wine in years like 85 but the shadow years are ones to prove one's mettle. He proves it here even in this village wine. Exceptional balance, purity of fruit, almost hard candy Flavors and ethereal mouth feel...just unforgettable. If I ever find this wine again...buying all of it! — 11 years ago
