Dorrien Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 1998

Gorgeous complex nose of cedar, coffee bean and some lantana. Medium weight palate with good length. Barossa better known for its Shiraz but the Dorrien vineyard has produced excellent Cabernet for many years. — 12 years ago

Drank my last bottle of this on 9th June. Same notes as above except the overt Barossa sweetness shows thru. A real crowd pleaser. Delicious but lacking some complexity behind that sweet fruit. 18-

Grand Cru Estate Riesling 2005

A Riesling comes from the cool Eden Valley. Good value at 120 yuan found in a drugstore in Beijing. Petrol and minerals are the first things that I could recall on the nose. Also some lemon and citrus fruit accompanied by honey and toast or some cream and nuts. Very vibrant on the palate with very high acidity, nearly bone-dry but lingers quite long on the finish. 91 points Drink now and do not age further. — 13 years ago

Trafford Barossa Valley Tawny Port

A light brown, the NV Seppelt Tawny Port 'Trafford' excites the nose with dried pit fruit, orange marmalade and baking spice aromas. Dynamic smoky-sweet flavors of caramel and cinnamon stay with you for a long, long time. This tawny is not as sticky or syrupy as most. Yummy stuff! — 12 years ago
