On the nose, strawberries, watermelon, tangerine and rose petals. On the palate, the fruits are ripe and delicate; strawberries, watermelon, tangerine & grapefruit. This is Drew, Fog-Eater Pinot Noir 2013. The color is darker than the average pinot. The legs are thin and moderately slow. The bouquet is elderberry and lavender. The initial palate is black cherry and spice. There are hints of pepper and vanilla. The finish is dry and lasts a good long while. The finish is beautiful and makes you thirst for another sip!!!! Really integrated, layered, and has everything you want in great Champagne without the price. The texture has weight and roundness without being too fat or clumsy. Spine of acid is zippy without too many edges. Notes of brioche, yellow apple, lemon curd, citrus, orchard blossom, sea spray, kiss of iodine, leesy notes accentuate it all. Persistent finish that evolves and lingers. Should help change your mind about domestic sparkling wine. — 9 years ago
Surprisingly delicious Prosecco. Frothy. Floral nose and other aromas of agave, apple and sea salt. Palate is similar but minus the sea salt and the addition of peaches. Very nice. — 9 years ago

This ones got character. Lost at sea with me and whole bunch of bitches from the northern rhone she seems exotic and she's speaking a different language. Zingy, acidic, bright...yet with concentration and zest. I can see her peppery and leather genetics in her eyes. I only wish I'd stayed sober enough to get closer to her and enjoy all of her nuances. Located themselves on an apple orchard-turned vineyard just west of the Anderson Valley on the Mendocino Ridge, Jason and Molly Drew craft some of the most transcendent Pinot Noirs in the county. Moderately saturated ruby color. On the nose its very perfumed, reminiscent of rose petals, black cherry, and black tea with a sharp minty note and hints of forrest floor. On the palate, its voluptuous in style with impressive structure and length. Its sourced from grapes farmed on steep southwest facing slopes with a view of the Pacific Ocean and access to its cooling breezes. The Santa Rita Hills is one of the great New World appellations for Pinot Noir with other great vineyards like Sea Smoke, La Rinconada, Sanford & Benedict, and Fiddlestix sitting below Rita's Crown. Napa Cellars 2013 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is an stunning ruby color, with elegant concentrated aromas of ripe dark cherries, black currant, elderberry, and mint with hints of eucalyptus and sea salt. A lush core of ripe blackberry, boysenberry, slate and cocoa coat the palate. Plush and enveloping fine grained tannins and subtle hints of dried herb and clove lend to a velvety smooth and long finish. Sweet tarts, the pink cherry ones, and just a hint of spree, the coating, that initial metallic sour shock. Head change keeps getting foggy...the cloud spirits are strong in here. I keep thinking I'm tasting chalk but then I keep feeling like I'm tasting ocean clouds. I'm having a fun time with this right now at work but this bottle calls for a day of rain or a windy pause in the hills. The confusion of this drink is tricky. It took twice around to have these evaluations and perhaps its ready now but then again maybe the fog becomes something pretty in the end...but when? — 10 years ago

Sean Boyd nailed this Mourvèdre! Smoke, tar, blackberry compote, and wildflowers with a touch of salty sea air. In fact, I just want to keep my nose in the glass! I expected something big, like a Bandol. This is certainly relatively full-bodied, but the fruit, lean tannins, and a touch of succulent acidity are harmonious. I suspect this will easily cellar another 7-9 years. Paired with duck breast and asparagus and wild mushrooms. — 7 years ago

“Journaux” is a Burgundian term, a unit of measurement signifying how much vineyard land a single man can plow with his horse in one day. The Azana vineyard, located in the Chehalem Mountains, sits at around 950' above sea level and is overlaid in volcanic Jory-type soil, as such, it's four or Quatre Journaux...and the Pinot Noir derived from it is nothing short of voluptuous.
