Lunch in Napa with Jennifer Lamb of Herb Lamb vineyard (Colgin bought original fruit here). Lunch...2011 to 2016 flight and more from her personal cellar to come:
1997 1st vintage in 3 liter (1 of 3 she ownes)
2007 herb lamb cab in magnum
2002 karl Lawrence herb lamb cab in 3 liter
1999 herb lamb cab in magnum
Note; Jennifer leased her vineyard to Thomas Rivers Brown(winemaker Schrader cellars). No more Herb Lamb vineyard cabernet after 2016 vintage. Great wine, get the last vintage if you can! — 6 years ago

Expected much more enjoyment, based on previous Vintages of this wine from Gargiulo Vineyards.
The 2012 575 OVX Cabernet Sauvignon, Oakville Estate Vineyard; tastes“thin” when to other Oakville Cabs in this price range; I.E, Maybach Materium, Schrader Beckstoffer Cabs, etc.
Disappointed, can’t report much here, sorry.

2012 TOR Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaker-@Jeff Ames
Owner- @Tor Kenward
Pop N Pour
Robert Parker scored it 96 points in 2014;
seems right after a few years of cellar aging.
Classic Oakville To Kalon dark fruits, deep concentration, lots of glycerin, almost black in the glass, classic loamy dirt aromatics, first taste is total satisfaction! Keeps getting better with each sip, opening up nicely with time & more oxidation. Kudos to Tor Kenward & Jeff Ames on this effort! I look forward to the 2015
version of this wine upon release in the future.
On this day 6/16/2017 Fred & Carol Schrader sold Schrader Cellars to Constellation Brands; it's only fitting to enjoy a To Kalon Cabernet Sauvignon!
Cheers! 🍇🍷👍

July 4th Friday was a total blowout! Killer bottles one after another. Here are just a few of the bottles we all enjoyed!
Such a treat to compare this against the ‘08 Schrader To Kalon and the ‘09 Chappellet Pritchard Hill. This was decidedly more dusty. Dark cocoa dusted dates, cassis, and black cherry compote over toasted graham crackers. This was decanted about an hour+ before we got to it and it was still powering through hours later. Thanks, @joe leatherwood . — 6 years ago
From the damned 2011 vintage comes another stellar cabernet! Pours with a purple hue. Blackberry and rhubarb nose. Youthful dense fruit. Compared to a 14 Insignia and an 11 Schrader LPV this one was probably the biggest on the table. The middle turns a little darker with black pepper showing through. The finish has resolving tannin and is on the softer side but lots of things going on here. Hint of herb, chocolate, black fruit. Complex and lovely. Going to appreciate over the next 7 to 10. — 7 years ago

On a night where we opened Colgin, Harlan, Shafer, Schrader, Imsignia, Carter & Caymus SS this bottle stole the show for me. — 8 years ago
Thomas Rivers Brown, master behind Schrader, Maybach, and Revana. Found him at an outfit in Yountville. Masculine style Prop red, but with a good breathe lets you experience his style without shelling out $250. — 9 years ago
Post Red Sox-Padres game with this Sox and wine fan. A bottle generously provided by @Martin G Rivard who I had just "met" on Delectable and he sent this Carter just because he saw that I had never posted one. That's pretty cool s**t!! So cheers to Martin and Claire and all the B's that make the world a great place to live. Bottles, boobs, Bender's....all of it. As for the wine it was indeed my first Carter cab and I was impressed. The label reminds me of Schrader and the wine does too. After an hour in the decanter soft beautiful blue and black fruits coat the mouth, dark chocolate and earth converge followed by a smooth silky mouthfeel and a long finish that lingers. I'm sold. — 9 years ago
One hour decant. Consumed slowly over three hours. This is still integrating and was nothing short of spectacular. Drink now or wait, but stellar. — 10 years ago
gearing up for the breaking bad finale. no Schrader brau so thought dead guy ale from Rogue was the next beat thing... #breakingbad #nothingstopsthistrain — 12 years ago

Magnum 1997 Spottswoode CS. Bday dinner for R at Rep. Served this after the ‘02 Schrader, which was decanted. This was served straight. High acid, but still lot of weight to it. Great. Preferred it to the Schrader. — 6 years ago
What a great wine - bold and robust and sings out loud - fantastic notes are playing on nose - with plenty of blue and black berries
The color is deep deep inky purple - RP gave it a 97 but I think it will get better over the next 20 years - it will evolve - I know Melka is the winemaker but this tastes like the schrader RBS I love so much from Brown
This 100% cab and grapes from Beckstoffer and again what is it that is not to love
The first sip was a mind blowing pure taste of rich complex and structured OMG feelings that is hard to find and finish was extraordinary looooong - I exclaimed a famous word "bouyi"
Smiles so big tonight my face is hurting but feeling better with every taste of this baby — 8 years ago
Happy we picked up 2 cases @ $45 a bottle. Its not Hobbs or Schrader but still some pretty damn good juice. — 9 years ago
Very good effort in a PB. I'm curious to know if anyone's had this and the 13 and could compare them. — 9 years ago

12’ Fait-Main Las Piedras.
It’s as good if not better then the Schrader LPV / Paul Hobbs LPV. Deep ruby color, pale purple edge. Nose- Black/blue fruits worn leather, come together.
Full-bodied. Blackberry jam, smoke, lavender, black forest cake, melting tannins. Juice flavorful finish. Pour into a decanter for 15/20 minutes. Fabulous expression of this vineyard.
