Balanced low sugar. Tart Apple. Really nice. Popular with people who said they don't like Riesling — 8 years ago
Fruity and floral taste. Subtle sweetness - not overpowering. Well balanced acidity. Very pleasant wine to drink on its own. — 9 years ago
Had this gem at Hearth, NYC. Spectacular juice. — 9 years ago
At $28 usd an exceptional value for an Alsatian GC. 2016 vintage was challenging initially but progressively improved. Some higher acidity levels here but overall doing well. Floral freshness, citrus and a touch of petrol and waxiness with Meyer lemon and minerality throughout palate. Not a stunner but a steal at the price. — 5 years ago
Last night was the Confrerie St. Etienne Spring dinner. It was my first time attending. This is a chapter of the original group out of Alsace, France, and is the only chapter here in the US...just happens to be in my neck of the woods! Great introduction to Alsace wines.
Kind of surprised at the reviews here for this wine. Maybe people rated the wrong one? This grand cru Riesling was paired with a Chilean sea bass and both were excellent. Not a lot of petrol on the nose, but it checked off most Riesling notes of honeycomb, pear and had that lovely sweet and quick finish on the palate. — 7 years ago
Saturated gold with orange notes; ripe pear, papaya, pineapple, cinnamon and cardamom, honey, v trace rubber and slight oxidation; unctuous and perfectly balanced med sweet, tingly acid, integrated alcohol to back it up (11.5%). Perched between young and old, bright and contemplative. — 7 years ago

No words for this. So many layers, acid and sucrosité in perfect balance. — 9 years ago

I tasted the exactly same wine at the same tasting one year ago and now the edges are getting rounder, the fruit is slowly developing, still lots of herb components mixed with tons of minerals left. I always love the super high but ripe acidity, Theresa Breuer manages to integrate into her Flagship. A still young Schlossberg with tons of potential left. In 5-10 years this could get a real Superstar. — 7 years ago
Nothing but excellence from Selbach. A little on the sweeter side, notes of pineapple, apple, and overripe peach. But the beauty of SB Rieslings is their crunchy acidity and refreshing minerality. I find that it dampens the sweetness of this wine to find a very nice balance at the finish. It starts sweet, and ends smooth. Their philosophy is to let the grapes speak for themselves, and these sing to high heaven with pleasurable sweetness, zipping acidity and balance. — 7 years ago
It's not sweet but lots of flowery and fruity notes. For the price, an excellent wine. — 9 years ago

Pop and pour. The nose...just enrapturing. Soft coffee and coconut notes, bright raspberry, ripe wild strawberry, herbal notes, savory notes...amazing complexity. On the palate, lovely acidity, a touch of bitter medicine, earth and tree bark, then red raspberry, pepper. Medium bodied, and soft but very finely grained tannin on the finish. My best bottle so far. — 4 years ago
