Collio Pinot Bianco 2019

Beautiful full deep medium gold… surprising for such a young white wine. Enticing bright aroma of spring flowers and juicy dripping ripe orchard fruit. Every once in a while you run into a wine that just knocks you back a step.. this is such a wine. Rich, ripe, round, weighted, serious, lip-smacking good, complex, alive, smile-inducing, with a finish that makes you want to pour a glass for everyone you know. We consumed this wine with extremely well-made takeout Indian… Tikka Chicken, warm spicy Chana, and downright hot Lamb Vindaloo… this elixir stood up to the hodge-lodge and made it better. I need to buy this wine by the case. — 15 hours ago

Rivarossa Red Blend 2017

The Schiopetto family has been in the wine business for three generations. The Friuli-Venezia Giulia region is where Italian, Germanic and Slavic cultures styles of wines merge. Intense Ruby-red, balanced Well-structured with aromas of fresh red fruits. Present tannins. Excellent pairing with Pasta/Pesto, roasted pork and Lindt & Sea Salt chocolate. — 3 months ago

Blanc des Rosis Venezia Giulia White Blend 2018

Persistent, dense and refreshing but there’s a heavy dose of Sauvignon Blanc gooseberry that’s not appealing to me. — 9 months ago

Collio Pinot Grigio 2018

Chapter 3 in my sub-20€ research.
This is the lightest and least complex. Highly drinkable, finish turns slightly spirity when the wine warms up.

Capriva del Friuli Pinot Grigio 2015

Fig, coconut, shaved fennel, almond oil, coriander seed, white pepper. Savory, penetrating, unctuous. Massive structure. Always one of Italy’s great whites, and the 2015 is a classic. #friulano #schiopetto #collio — 4 years ago
