On first open, the butter/malo notes are overpowering everything. Some fruit and acidity in there but hidden. Will see how it evolves with some air. — 3 months ago
Medium Ruby color with aromas of berry fruits with floral and wood spice notes, aged for 11 months in oak. On the palate flavors of strawberry and cherry with tobacco, oak, tea, cola and herb floral notes. Well balanced, savory fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and an oaky earthy character. Nice! — 3 months ago

Ruby red color with aromas of dark berry fruits, cedar and spicy forest floor notes. On the palate flavors of raspberry, blackberry, and crushed red cherries with notes of cedar and baking spice, lively acidity, fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and earthy notes. Drinking well! Pair this with a pork roast or Salmon with a balsamic glaze. — 8 months ago

Privileged to sample the 2016 Monte Bello at the winery as part of their Library offerings. The bottle is $375 at the winery. Tight and tannic after 8 years (and half an hour of decanting) but promising much more. Josh at the winery concedes that it’s in a dumb phase but should reach its peak in 20-30 years. I could analyze and pick apart this one for hours. — 4 months ago
Poured into a Boa decanter about 30min prior to service. The 2016 “Santa Chiara pours a brilliant, deep and slightly hazy copper gold color with medium+ viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with desiccated apricots, dried apples, yellow flowers, and curaçao. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium- tannins. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is super long and super amazing. This is such a wonderful bottle of Bea. When his whites hit, well…they really hit. Drink now with a short decant or over the next 3-5 years. 2013. Awesome. — 9 years ago
The anticipation and patience displayed holding this for 10 years was amply rewarded. Clear, brick-ish color, tight nose that eventually opened to loads of red fruit, Burgundy like in its combination of lushness and reserve. Subtle and layered even after all these years. — 2 months ago
Packs a lot of value for the price! First time trying the ABC Chard and I was impressed. — 3 months ago
