A lovely complement to spaghetti and meatballs with Fra Diavolo sauce. Soft mouth feel and dark ruby color. After decanting and breathing for an hour the dark cherry and chocolate really pop. — 3 months ago

Based on day 2. I really enjoyed this as it opened up. Great texture with lemon curd, stone fruit, marzipan and lively acidity. So well balanced. — 5 months ago

2015 vintage Chianti Gran Selezione.
80 % Sangiovese, 13 % Merlot and 7 % Malvasia Nera.
Deep dark ruby red.
Perfumed nose with black currants, violets, olives and cocoa.
Ripe black plums, leather, black tea with polished silky tannins.
A long, beautiful finish. — 3 years ago
This yellow-gold wine rings the “old-style Cali” bell in all the right ways. A nose of apricots, mangoes and apples is helped along with the smell of buttered popcorn. Oak treats the palate as well, draping over the tropical fruit like a sunshade. The acidity is zesty, yet the mouthfeel tends toward creaminess due to the wine sitting on the lees for five months. The oak is a definite part of the wine, but the effect is softened enough so that it's a pleasure, not a pain. — 6 years ago

Light on the nose and medium body finish / very delicate flavor but rich notes of maybe vanilla, definitely black cherry, leather, hints of earthy tones. Delicious — 2 months ago
2020 vintage. A fave CA chard and producer. Medium-medium heavy body. Tasting slightly more tropical and advanced with less acidity than usual. Still absolutely delicious tho. Would like to retaste and reevaluate in 5-6 months tho. Based on 30 vintages of tasting this particular wine, betting it reconciles any tawdry, fleeting concerns that occupy my compromised palate and right quick. 01.22.25. — 4 months ago
Coming back to this old favorite. Now it’s at grocery outlet! Pretty label. Pretty color in the glass. Smells earthy with wet gravel meets strawberry-rhubarb pies. Flavors are nice. Floral, fruity cherry/raspberry notes. Blast of bite on the finish to keep it balanced. Fruit driven, but not fruit bombed. Juicy AF. Cleaner and less dynamic than I remember it being when I love, love, loved it. Still an amazing Spanish value wine. Elegant and very tasty. — 6 months ago
2013 vintage. Decanted and tasted immediately and after 30 mins. Reticent nose. Medium-heavy body. Massive flavors and structure. Wouldn’t open it any time soon. Phenomenal now but so so intense. If you can Potsie it for a decade plus, do so. Another reminder as to why Barolo is the wine of kings. 11.01.24. — 7 months ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Ruby color, purple edges, with pronounced aromas of red fruits, floral, herbs and complex spice. On the palate concentrated flavors of raspberry, ripe plum and black cherry with orange citrus, herbs, vanilla and oak, soft tannins on well balanced structure. Full body, rich long finish, ending with fruit, vanilla, floral, spice and oaky tones. Very Nice! Will age!
