Dense and aromatic, with ripe blackberry and cassis but no sweetness or syrup. Loads upon a loads of white pepper. Fine tannins. This has aged remarkably well. I have this sense, perhaps mistaken, that Wells basically did a stylistic about face between 2006 and 2007 but perhaps that overstated the case. — 9 years ago

Needs 15 minutes of air time to get the merlot smell and taste going. Overall, very tasty for merlot enthusiasts but it's not an Indian Wells. That is my standard for a weekly merlot purchase in a reasonable price range. — 7 years ago
