Fantastic '98. Extremely smooth with a really well balanced taste. But I'm not gonna lie... it smelled like a diaper for the first 45mins it was open. I desperately wanted to ignore it, but it slapped me in the face every time the glass got near my face. Decanted for 3 hrs, Bouquet full of sweetness, chocolate covered raisins , prunes, vanilla, berries and a hint of mushrooms.

Palate cherries, recently charred oak, chocolate, ripe plums, prunes, and white pepper.

2015 Temperance Might Meets Right double rye barrel. This is one of the best stouts I've ever tasted. Vibrant bright berry up front, followed by some rye burn, then bittersweet chocolate and coffee. Layers of flavor evolve over the course of a minute. Unbelievable integration of flavors, truly a magnificent display of emergent properties. Thick mouthfeel, perfect level of carbonation. 90 s later, here comes some anise and butterscotch. Some vanilla, too. A masterpiece. — 9 years ago
