Quite a deep old gold, light honey colour slightly hazy. Intact and interesting on the nose , lanolin and candle wax , touches of roast almonds and bruised apple. On the palate quite intense and with lemon pith , orange peel , bruised apple and candle wax . There is a lightly sherried character noticeable after a short while that gets more noticeable with time . Good acidity and weight , creamy mouthfeel . Quite reasonable length. This obviously should be drunk now (probably should have been drunk a decade ago too) won’t improve and only will become more sherried with more time . Commendable and a nice surprise but drink quickly once open ! This bottle just one of the weird but wonderful choices available from T Wright Wines in Bolton (uk) , a real gem of a shop that I throughly recommend. — 4 months ago

Floral and crisp. Excellent pairing with pad Thai! — 8 months ago
A lovely every day balanced red wine. Not to harsh for lighter meals not to light for red meats and game meals. — 4 years ago
Alto Adige on full display with tart bitterness of pitted fruits and slate. Lush tropical notes and a hint of vanilla (the Chard?) round out the frame. Not much of a finish to speak of. Crisp enough for seafood, but with a ripeness that will pair well with a host of cheeses or your favorite South Asian hot sauce. QPR heaven too! — 7 years ago

Rich and enjoyable. — 4 months ago
A blend of mostly Semillon and about 10% Sauv Blanc, fermented 6 months in oak, aged for 3 years. Medium amber color with aromas of ripe sweet fruits and orange honey botrytis notes. On the palate rich flavors of ripe peaches and figs with vanilla notes. Long finish ending with sweet fruit notes. Tasting well now, Nice! Had this with a blueberry tart! — 4 months ago
Apricot and green apple. Subtle - not over the top. Perfect to sip with dessert. October 2023. — 7 months ago
Good with a spicy curry on a hot summer evening. Sweet on the nose, but the blend makes it really nice. Melon but not too sweet. — 9 months ago
Amber dark gold color. Thick and heavy in the glass. Notes of vanilla, brown sugar, and some creme brûlée. Rich and big in the mouth. Light acidity builds and with air this rounds out to a nicely enjoyable finisher for the evening. BDay dinner 12/12. — 6 years ago
A nice blend ideal with a meal or standalone- vibrant. November 2016 — 8 years ago
2011 vintage. Spectacular wine that is really still getting better. Pale golden hue. Grapefruit, grassy, white blossom, honeysuckle, mineral and appetising. On the palate, medium body and medium plus acidity which gives a lemon zesty note to the wine. The mineral character is more apparent and there's a green pea note too. Good concentration and long finish. Fabulous and unbelievable value. A top top wine. — 9 years ago
Dark ruby hue. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, cassis, licorice, and plum. Plus body, plus tannins, plus acid. While strong, balanced, and elegant, it opens up with a soft, round palate. Exemplary Napa red. 68 Cab Sauv, 28 Merlot, 2 Cab Franc, 2 Petit Verdot. — 3 months ago
Really enjoyed it but nearly over the hill. I wouldn't buy more. — 7 months ago
Poured into a Boa decanter about 30min prior to service. The 2016 “Santa Chiara pours a brilliant, deep and slightly hazy copper gold color with medium+ viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with desiccated apricots, dried apples, yellow flowers, and curaçao. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium- tannins. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is super long and super amazing. This is such a wonderful bottle of Bea. When his whites hit, well…they really hit. Drink now with a short decant or over the next 3-5 years. A beautifully balanced Chaleur Blanc with delicate sweet notes countered by some well appointed acidity. Finishes fast and smooth with only the tart acid lingering on. — 5 years ago

1998 vintage. This estate was acquired in 1972 by former Château Yquem régisseur Pierre Meslier ( who passed away in 2023 at the age of 93). He managed to restore the wines to their former glory, and his 3 children seem to continue on the same path. This 1998 features a brilliant, golden colour, and a nose that immediately shows off the typical roasted botrytis aromas that characterise great Sauternes, intertwined with honey, beewax, maple syrup, lemon confit and flowers. In the mouth, it is succulent and profound, wonderfully achieving that delicate balance between sugar and acidity that makes Sauternes potentially great. Layers of dried and fresh fruit, rich and refreshing at the same time, culminating in a very long finish with a lovely almondy impression. Excellent. Abv. 13,5%. — 2 months ago
