J-j-j-uicy fruit goodness of black fruit compote with just a rumor of wood grain. — 8 years ago
A Riesling, Pinot Noir, Gewurtztraminer blend that's about concentration and complexity. Showing a nutty, quince, orange marmelade side where sweet spices surface. Perhaps slightly oxidized, it has a full-bodied, creamy brightness that for me, begs another sip. (Rumor has it the heat retaining gravel soils result in this type of wine.) Bravo. — 8 years ago
Exquisitely light and dry, with a whisper of fruit, as if waved over a peach. The merest rumor of effervescence. — 9 years ago
The wines of the Jamet brothers always have the capability to convince. Even after a bottle of DRC... Elegant and full of character. 38l/ha, no destemming, a 20-day fermentation and a usage of only 20% new oak during an élévage of nearly two years. First class wine! It is a mystery though if the brothers are still making wine together nowadays. Rumor has it that since 2013 Jean-Luc is no longer involved at Domaine Jamet (and is working 1ha out of the total 8ha on his own now). — 10 years ago

Pretty florals, fresh, and dominated by sweet red cherries/raspberries with an undertone of sandalwood. It possesses an elegant and regal quality to it and this could be attributed to the plot Aux Lavieres, which is one lieu-dit away from neighbouring Vosne Romanee. Yet, the structure and perhaps the acidity points to NSG. There is also the rumor that the Felettig's are receiving tips from Louis Michel of Liger Belair. Really underrated producer and would love to try his other labels. One tip to those who are thinking of opening a bottle - finish it in a hour. — 8 years ago

Round and herbaceous- delightfully geeky- rumor is it's great with steak tartare. — 9 years ago
Shows great fruit, full yet softer tannin and medium acid. Barrel indicates French treatment but rumor tells American in there...which eludes me. Fantastic effort from a good vintage. — 9 years ago
Heard a rumor @Dan Petroski was into Friulian wine so I brought this. — 10 years ago
Bottle 22, heard a rumor that they never label a bottle over 50:)

Rumor is, the owner of this estate is one of the winemakers at Pétrus and this is a family side-project. What I know for sure is that it’s a really solid and balanced wine. — 7 years ago
Love deep seeded rumors about wines. Rumor here is that is made from third run Screaming Eagle grapes that are shipped down to Santa Barbara. True or not, this was great. Certainly tastes more Napa than Santa Barbara in profile. Dark inky black blue and black fruit with some herbal notes. — 7 years ago
Hefty! Great dark fruit and oak flavors...almost like cinnamon and nutmeg. Pairing this wine with blue cheese fritters is as an amazing a pairing as Dire Straights and Eric Clapton at Wembley '88: seamless perfection at every moment.
(Rumor has it that this wine is an exact replica of the wine Jesus created from his blood) — 9 years ago
This wine knocked my socks off...it changed quite a bit each passing 20 minutes. Great nose of petrol, honey and minerality...the palate was rocking with everything integrated...the flavors, sweetness and acidity. Rumor has it that is showed great on day 2 as well. @romo — 9 years ago
Rumor has it that the cuttings of SH came from Inglenook, which ultimately came from DRC. Interesting theory. SH has always been an odd duck in Napa. Spring Mt Pinot, that is muscle and elegance in one package. So I'm going with it... Beautiful wine. Elegant and powerful at the same time. Loads of red currant, Asian 5 spice and rose oil. Pure aromas and fruit. Perfumed, exotic and texturally sleek. Minor alc on the finish, but I've tasted many hotter Burgs. What most new world Pinots wish to be! — 10 years ago
Nothing like a nice Sav Blanc on warm days like this.
I'd gotten used to the gentle woody tones and mixed sweet succulent bouquets carried by many of the Sauvignon Blancs of the Pacific Northwest. In stark contrast is this Italian masterpiece: subtly sweet nose, with the faintest swirl of peach and pear, like a silent ballet before the solid, crisp acidity of the body dips and spreads itself across the tongue. Delightful.
The winery - Alto Adige - is known not only for its drinks, but for cultivating some mighty fine asparagus as well. (Rumor has it that this wine pairs wonderfully with that veggie; I'll have to find another bottle to confirm -- this one'll be done soon;)) — 10 years ago

Blockbuster! Pinotphiles like should buy this up fast as they can. Rumor has it that this is the last Bacigalupi produced as Venge is moving fans to its sister winery, Croix Estate. I’m taking two...cases! — 7 years ago
