Fernet Branca is San Francisco's magical elixir of lore. Equal parts hangover prevention and morning after cure; it is an acquired taste but one that every San Franciscan must embrace. The traditional way to consume fernet is neat with a back of ginger beer. Sip fernet, sip ginger, repeat... Ask for a fernet and ginger as you wrap up dinner at any restaurant in SF and you will receive a knowing nod from your server followed quickly by your glass of fernet branca. — 9 years ago
A decade old Cab straight from the mountains with murky lore? I'm here for that. Dark garnet with nice, long legs. Highly expressive nose of cherries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and black coffee. Did I mention fruit? Because this thing is all fruit. It teeters on the edge of becoming a fruit-bomb but never actually goes over. The palate is true to the nose. All bright red fruit. All ridiculously delicious. Spice on finish with some really nice acidity. — 8 years ago
Very nice fruit present whilst delivering loads of pepper and capsicum. Could have given it a minimum of 2 years lore age. Hints of game and leather. — 9 years ago
Lore. Good. With notes of sherry cask. — 8 years ago
This is really pretty. I need to explore that Alsace world more often. It's a land of grag and lore. — 9 years ago
Paul Bridgeman does it right! This is solid and tight, yet a joy tonight. Just the right amount of greenery to be pleasant with the fine fruit and its long, savory finish. — 10 years ago
