Well balanced ; cedar rosemary; elegant medium bodied finish ; cedar balsamic dried cherries — 9 years ago
Wow, love this nose. Smells of perfumed lavender and flowers, oregano, herbs, rosemary, and earthiness . Oregano, spice, earth, rosemary, flowers, lavender all confirmed on palate. Love this wine! — 9 years ago
Fragrant Rosemary nose. Expresso, rose, tar. — 10 years ago
Julie at the co-op recommended this wine pairing with rack of lamb roasted with garlic and fresh rosemary, it was definitely a perfect pair! — 10 years ago
Earthy mushroom and chocolate nose. Tar, graphite, baked plum, cinnamon, cedar, rosemary, roses and black currant with pepper. — 10 years ago
I find myself trying to pick the fruit into a forest of resolute, scented but not aggressive leather and I discover wood, tobacco, dried rose, rosemary, liqorice. Finally here is it, a vivid red fruit and rose petals. In the mouth, sweet tannins and spices. Balanced and intense structure. Good acidity. Leather is the "fil rouge" of this novel, written in proud tones, but elegantly painted with a clear and trasparent garnet red with an orange touch. — 11 years ago
Not as sexy as the 2010. Nose is m intensity of blackberry, plum, herbs, lavender, Rosemary, tobacco, cedar, oak. Palate has good structure, sweet red/black fruit, quite meaty, savoury, herbal, spicy, quite good. M acidity, m+ tannin, m+ full body, decent chewy m+ length. Would like to recasts in 6 months to year. Good+ — 11 years ago
Fabulous brunello Riserva served with the porcini and rosemary rubbed ribeye — 12 years ago
High concentration medium staining. Dark ruby, Jammy to dried dark cherries, black currants, cassis, licorice/anise, tea leaves, clay, basil, rosemary, all spices, green pepper, mushroom. Low acidity, medium plus tannins - soft and velvety, medium plus body. Medium (plus) oak influences of spices. — 8 years ago
Blackberry, licorice, leather, black olives and rosemary — 9 years ago
Brambly wild fruit on the nose. Raspberry, blackberry definitely with some fruit concentration. A wild, sage, rosemary element that darkens this otherwise bright wine in a good way. Like Poe wouldn't be a legend without the darkness — 9 years ago
Well made wine. Black cherry, plum, and anise. A nice barnyard background gives way to herbs and earth. The palate doesn't disappoint, mellow tannins, good acidity and well integrated fruit. Dry yet juicy. If only I had a rosemary lamb chop, my experience would be complete. — 9 years ago
A baby and a shame I had to drink it this young, but I don't have another option, considering this is $733 a bottle! Flinty and with notes like a freshly lit lighter or burned paper that will, over time, distinguish it further from Le Méal, this wine at the moment is still full of blueberry fruit and rosemary herbal notes, violet, and the classic black pepper of Hermitage. Still very young for a 2010. Big and strong. — 10 years ago
My go to Oregon Pinot I just want to open and drink immediately. Pairs well with rosemary. — 10 years ago
Espectacular!! On a real Garnacha bender these days
Edit 03/2017- lifted red cherry, dark citrus oil, rosemary, granite, transparent. One of the best garnachas coming out of spain — 11 years ago
Room to age ... Beautiful balance. Briar, dark fruit, good mid-palate and medium tannin. I want to be Rosemary when I grow up. — 11 years ago
What a fuckin nose... Cherry and tar and berry compote and tobacco and cedar and leather and roses and maybe rosemary. — 11 years ago
Interesting to compare this Mourvèdre from its spiritual home of Bandol with the same grape from d’Arenberg in McLaren Vale tasted a day ago. This has the garrigue type aromas expected, of Lavender and Thyme with a little Rosemary. Much of this grows around the vineyards in Provence and Bandol. Rich and flavoursome - berry fruits and some gaminess. 10/10 for the nose - loved it. This is textbook Mourvèdre probably only matched by Domaine Tempier. This is the 6th of 6 bottles I purchased 10 years ago, and the best. — 8 years ago
A 2007 that is absolutely singing! Blackberry, cherry, and vanilla aromas with a hint of rosemary. Tannins are perfectly integrated. Gorgeous! — 10 years ago
Jammed Black fruit with spice. Mint. Rosemary. Cocoa bean. Dust. Masa. Big weight with soft tannic structure and acid that isn't overbearing. Slight green edge that shows its youth. #wineschool — 11 years ago
Lovely big, oaky CA cabernet sauvignon. Brandied dark cherries, raisins, dried plums, toasted vanilla, tobacco, licorice, butter, rosemary, molasses, raspberry, wool and animal skin. On the palate, the wine reveals more of those lovely dried dark fruit notes of raisins, cherries, and plums, as well as more brandied cherries, butter, rosemary. Soft, well balanced tannins that have had time to mellow and better integrate over the last ten years. I think it maybe could've gone another year or two, but I definitely opened at a great time. Splendid, deep, complex Cabernet that was a rewarding experience to drink. — 11 years ago
