One of the better Italian wines I’ve had. 30+ minute decant. Almost maroon in color with brown edges. Nose had firewood and new plastic on it. Wine had bricking and was dominated by caramel and honey, with some plum and blackberry elements. Medium finish. High OH. — 6 years ago

Not usually a fan of the style but this was super juicy and fruit driven. Great dry bite and awesome with a fruit and cheese board. Wine gallery advent calendar wine #11 — 8 years ago

Bold. Very spicy at first and heavy, a little unlike ripasso. Softens some with air, keeps the spice, but becomes a bit more fruit forward as I expected. — 9 years ago

This is a keeper, had this with poached salmon garlic shrimp and spinach. Wonderful full body with just hints of herbs and a little olive.

Little Unbalanced at the start, quite tight on the nose and acidity nearly extreme. Of course a 100% Barbera.
With an hour of air it started to opens up and give the beauty of mushy, bottom forest and spices that only a Piedmont terroir can give.
