This is Clos Pepe’s Dark Side bottling, which they only made a few times. What an excellent PN, loaded with dark cherries, other dark fruits and some cola. There was a little left in the decanter about an hour or so after dinner and the fruit was gone as well as the long sweet finish. I had opened and decanted it about an hour before dinner and maybe that was too much time but got through dinner fine. — 9 months ago

Strawberry, Cherry front with eucalyptus and sea salt finish. Good to have with Lamb/Duck or mushroom dishes. Also just on its own. — 11 years ago
Ruby red color with aromas of dark berry fruits, cedar and spicy forest floor notes. On the palate flavors of raspberry, blackberry, and crushed red cherries with notes of cedar and baking spice, lively acidity, fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and earthy notes. Drinking well! Pair this with a pork roast or Salmon with a balsamic glaze. — 8 months ago
Steely, mineral driven, some apple, lemon zest, a nice long finish. — a year ago

Tasted in 2015: First pour a bit hot, even caustic, but after allowing it to breathe, second pour is much more balanced and reveals aromas of tar, ash, black pepper, violets, raspberries, and a hint of cherry cola. More breathing still showed brown sugar and herbal aromas. — 6 years ago
