“American Rhône.” medium bodied, minerals and graphite with blackberry. — 5 years ago
Same winemaker from Reynvaan. Great tasting room. — 7 years ago
Kinda muted nose for viogner but killer palate with acidity and flavor that lasts forever. Great wine for some fish. — 7 years ago
Light signature nose of berries and violets. Astringent with huge acid on first pour reminiscent of wines derived from vines grown in volcanic ash. Mineral, olive and green tea. Comes together on day two suggesting this wine could use some considerable time in the bottle for its elegance and exquisite qualities to emerge. — 8 years ago
One of the most bizarre and fascinating wines I've ever tasted. I thought I knew bloody, meaty mineral Syrah from my love of Washington Syrah like Cayuse and Reynvaan but Wow. I guess it should be no surprise for the Slayer of Men — 11 years ago
Pretty sure I called this wine a "humbling experience" late last night after too much wine and mezcal. Jamet, Cayuse, the old Reynvaan wines, they've got this thing...this crazy balance of milky funk and mouthwatering acidity. Really doesn't get any better, I guess you could age these but how could it get better? — 7 years ago
Wonderful rocks ava style red from reynvaan family. — 9 years ago
Had the chance to drink both the 12 and 13 with Matt Reynvaan of this special offering. Wine was aged 24 months in a combination of 600L Puncheon and neutral French barrels then rested for another 36 months in the bottle. Wild game, smoke and blood sausage on the nose. I found no edges on palate, yet I do find this wine to be nicely balanced in regards to acid and tannins with very little manipulation from Matt. 12 slightly edged out the 13. — 5 years ago
Lots of plums, cherries and fruit flavor. Really delicious even though it's so young. — 7 years ago
Hypnotizing nose. Barrel sample — 7 years ago
2014 Guigal Condrieu La Doriane
Wow. This wine is amazing. I love Viognier and drink a fair amount of domestic Viognier from solid producers like Alban, Roar, Reynvaan, Jeff Cohn, Favia and Herman Story. I love those wines but this is a different animal. This wine redefines the category. Impeccable balance, unbelievable minerality and a finish that lasts 45 seconds. This is a white wine that evolves in the glass in front of you and it is a 2014. I had this alone and then with food, Nicoise salad and it was great with ample acidity. This is a Viognier that is made like a Grand Cru white burgundy. My eyes have been opened to what is possible with this grape. BRAVO — 7 years ago
No shit sold out. We spit 300+ wines. This was not one of them and represents some of the best whites in the new world. Orange honey marmalade but honestly name it and it's in there. I love this wine. — 9 years ago
Steve Medbery
Rock star of a wine! Floral, peppery, bacon on the nose, BlackBerry, smoked meat, olive on the palate. Complex wine with a long mineral finish. Love the 13.5 Alc. Could easily mistake for Hermitage or Core Rotie — 4 years ago
