This is a ruby red gem at 14.0% ABV. Italy's Puglua IGP Zinfandel is labelled Primitivo. An bold aroma of blackberry fruit, fresh plum, and a hint of raspberry jam is met with a palate reflective of aromas. Mouthwatering, fleshy, flavourful, medium + tannins, medium bodied, medium plus fruit, this wine has tertiary notes of earthiness. This wine is a wonderfully captured expression of warm climate — 10 years ago
Aromas of Barbecue wings from Sharky's. Black fruit and smoke — 10 years ago
Deeply and widely concentrated blue-black core with a very slim garnet rim. Reflective surface. Complex, concentrated nose is fruit forward, very ripe, black berry, black currant, cigar box, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Full body, medium minus acid is well balanced with high alcohol (14.9%) but throws a throat warming burn. Slow to emerge but long lasting ripe tannin. Ripe aromas on the nose are confirmed on the palate with the addition is a tell tale black pepper on the lengthy finish. Amazing finesse and complexity - don't judge a wine by its Abv! — 10 years ago
Would unquestionably be better in five years. But after five hours in a decanter? Notes of freshly opened plastic water wings and freshly killed game. #creepybutdelicious #littlekidnightmare — 10 years ago

LONGING FOR THE SOUTH
Yesterday I drank this very nice Macedonian semi-dry T'ga za Jug red wine.
The wine is made of the native grape variety Vranec. It has an intense red color, and the distinctive taste of raisins and raspberries, which make it a nice sweet treat (hence: semi-dry).
The wine is named after the poem ‘Taga za Yug’ of the Bulgarian poet Konstantin Miladinov (1830–1862), one of the Miladinov brothers, who originate from Ottoman Macedonia. Both brothers are thought to have laid the foundation of the Macedonian literary tradition.
‘Taga za Yug’ means ‘longing for the South’ (el anhelo por el Sur): "If I had an eagle's wings, I would rise and fly on them to our shores, to our own parts [...] Here are frost and snow and ashes, blizzards and harsh winds abound [...] There the sunrise warms the soul".
When it is cold outside, and fiercely raining, I can assure you that it makes you long for the sun that warms the soul. Drinking the T'ga za Jug wine in good company and nice surroundings makes for a wonderful or sometimes even better alternative.

@David A Lentine @Gina Sabean @Christine You know that you are drinking GREAT wines when you can say that a Realm Beckstoffer To Kalon came in last. I love this producer beyond measure!! Every wine they make is a hit. Everyone tonight agreed that drank by itself it would have been amazing. However, it still needs a few years to open up and spread its wings!! All of my bottles were decanted for 8 hours today, I began formulating thus rodeo of a lineup around 11am. The Realm had huge dark fruit but too many rough edges in comparison to the others. In all honesty, these are so good that we are splitting hairs but alas they must be ranked and that is how the Cookie Crumbled this evening. — 9 years ago
I'm loving all the selection I have in America! Bordeaux is one of my favorites (right under Malbec), as this is less sweet than last night's selection. If Malbec is a 5-rated dry, this Bordeaux is a 7. Oh. And perfectly paired with hot wings. — 10 years ago
Glad I saved this baby. Although I prefer Gewurztraminers with more of a floral flourish, I think this is reflective of the warm 2010 vintage in the Finger Lakes: orange & quince on the palate and yeah, lychee all the way. Orange blossom on the nose too. Lovely! The body is pleasantly oily and the finish long and smooth. #hermannjwiemer #flxwine #flx #gewürztraminer #gewurztraminer — 10 years ago
Drinking great! Mucho secondary biz with cooked fruit hiding behind. Glad to have 05 and 06 waiting in the wings. #alittlebretisagoodthing — 10 years ago

So. This wine. A perfect zen moment. Picture this: You're all alone. But then you connect with someone. You meet this someone who inspires you and it's a humbling moment in your life that takes you back into time and lets you reminisce about all the good things life and this world has to offer. Stunning reflective wine. Just sip, think, meditate and relax. — 8 years ago
I love this wine. Discovered it while living in Omaha and went to the winery. Excellent flavor and easy to drink — 9 years ago
Very lush and balanced Pinot with subtle fruit reflective of its terroir. Easy to drink. — 10 years ago
A somewhat vinous, somewhat cidery expression of Brut Rosé that almost seems like a cross between a Pet Nat and a Bugey-Cerdon-style wine. Watermelon agua fresca, strawberry and bing cherry notes along with a good dose of rose petals and baking spice precede a palate reflective of these aromatics paired with a steely-minerality. Really cool. — 10 years ago

Not a big fan of white wines. This is fruity with a clean finish. — 10 years ago
Reflective, translucent, medium garnet red consistent from dense core to a watery purple rim. Classic old world Cabernet franc nose albeit slightly riper than chinon or bourgeil. Complex with Medium intensity of ripe green bell pepper bell pepper, pomegranate, black pepper and clove. A dry wine with medium body, medium acid, medium fine and long lasting astringency medium plus heat. Palate is recalls the aromas in the nose with a touch of structure enhancing amaro. Elegant, balanced, and complex....more please, Italy! — 10 years ago
This wine goes extraordinarily well with medium flavored wings from Buffalo Wild Wings. Really brings out the taste of sage. — 11 years ago
