Mistook this for an old Bordeaux as did others at the table. Wonderful wine and others said this was one of the best '98's they've ever had. — 11 years ago
Great depth, a strong pinot, I could talk more but must get to next table — 11 years ago
Good table red for Cerebrating holidays with family — 12 years ago
From a favorite estate in the heart of Chianti comes this simply gorgeous Tuscan table wine for the table. 90'ish % Sangiovese with a splash of Merlot just to round-out the edges, the 2010 (Sebastiano) "Cappone" Chianti Classico, simply put, is a slam dunk.
For the buck: you will find few better.

Dark maroon with just a hint of brick on the periphery. Fig with an overpowering nose of black cherry, fig, menthol, tobacco, and licorice. Soft velvety tannins and full bodied. Red currant and coffee. Balanced yet not overly complex, with a strong finish. Remarkable for table wine. A north coast of note. 91. — 13 years ago
Lovely trip to AmByth this weekend. All of their 2012 wines are already so expressive (and still fermenting in amphorae). Can't wait to try these wines when they are ready! I'll be pouring their 2010 Syrah and 2011 Red Table Blend this Friday at K&L in Redwood City. — 13 years ago

Very good red table wine — 11 years ago
One of the Spring selections from my Deep Sea membership. The "Red" is a Conway table wine, this iteration being a Rhône style with Syrah taking the majority share of the blend. The Conway Family estate grapes are grown on the central coast, Rancho Arroyo Grande. The Arroyo Grande AVA is a 16 mile long winding valley in San Luis Obispo that offers diverse microclimates yielding a great variety of viticultures. Head to the Santa Barbara Pier one of these Spring days and have a glass at the Deep Sea tasting room! ~$25 | #deepsea #conway #rhonestyle
On the eyes: Blood Red, Garnet Color, Med Opacity, Bright, Light Stain, Med Tears, No Gas/Floc.
On the nose: Vinuous, Cassis with Ripe Red Fruit, Oak notes, trailing into Baking Spices and Vanilla.
On the tongue: Med Acid, Med Alcohol, Med+ Tannin, Jammy Black Plum with Cassis, hints of Vanilla and Tobacco, Med Body with a Weak Structure and Complexity. — 11 years ago
