I will try any Carneros Pinot Noir, and the 2010 is the best I've had, alongside Saintsbury's Block C Pommard — 9 years ago
Exceeded expectations, surprisingly good wine. Fruit forward, not as high tannin as a Chianti but similar notes - ripe red berries, sour cherry, dried cranberry, dried herbs, fennel, and chalk. Medium body, modest finish. — 9 years ago
Took about an hour to open up, and then wow, delicious. — 10 years ago
(36) Dark reddish tone, not bold. Plums and currants. Rich, elegant, balanced and smooth. Enjoy this great wine. — 10 years ago
Creamy and lightly citric, this wine stood up to everything I could throw at it: smoked turkey leg, crab cakes, steamed artichokes, green salad, seeded baguette with Camembert cheese, seared tuna, and fried green tomatoes. Versatile and flexible, it has a splash of residual sugar with a pleasant slightly bitter finish. — 11 years ago
An excellent and atypical Chardonnay, this wine is medium bodied with a bright, acidic mouthfeel and citric grassy flavors, and only a touch of creaminess. This is a far cry from the frankly silly style so recently in vogue in California. — 9 years ago
Oldie and goodie. Gift for uncle Dave. Yum. — 9 years ago

An excellent lighter red, full of smooth bright berry flavors with a mildly spicy bite to the finish. An excellent food wine, it paired wonderfully with kale, chicken sausage, and onion pizza with a side of garbanzo beans and a sweet kale/Brussels sprout chopped salad. Bellissimo! — 10 years ago
Great dessert wine — 12 years ago
Sure do wish that wasn't the last bottle in the cellar. — 9 years ago
Sharp, focused and surprisingly elegant at this age. A baby now but built to age. Ripe cranberry and red fruits! Thank you @Emily Rasmussen! — 9 years ago

This is actually the 2013 Spectrum Estate Blend, mixing the three different varietals grown at Rasmussen: Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah. Having tried both the Cab and Merlot on their own - and they were lighter in style - it's not surprising the meaty, smoky Syrah chews its way through to the forefront. I can't recall for certain, but they may have said this blend was equal parts for all grapes. The Cab and Merlot add some softness, and the warm Paso days add some beautiful dried fruits. Drinking nicely right now. — 8 years ago
