A little plain, but incredible to see the red slate soils of this vineyard translated through the relative tabula rasa of Pinot Blanc. Imagine just the skeletal outline of minerality from the estate's Rieslings made manifest; the rocks walk the earth right into your mouth. Very clean with no botrytis. Solid deep garnet red core. Beautifully complex nose, starting with dark fruits such as cassis. Slightly savory undertones too. Palate is full of fruit not overpowering and is very smooth. Moderate tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Long, lingering, and smooth finish. Can't believe this was a PNP. Drink till 2026. — 9 years ago
