Very spicy, spaghetti? In the nose. Very smooth, light on the pallet, very delicious. — 7 years ago
Enjoyed widely, again. Flavorful, hint of butter but not overpowering, citrus and hint of honey. — 8 years ago
This wine took an hour to get going. Darker expression of Sangiovese without a doubt. The nose was licorice, flint, and ripe raspberry. The entry was raspberry, truffle, darker berries and foresty in the middle. The finish has an herbal note with black cherry. Grilled meat, medium tannin that was pretty stiff. Tasted like a cab/merlot blend but I believe this one is sangiovese. This wine really showed well with a Mediterranean herb gouda, and went ok with the spaghetti although I think the herbs in the spaghetti sauce didn't go well with the herbs in the sauce. If pairing with herbal anything, these Toscanas are sometimes a bit tricky. Interesting wine for sure. — 8 years ago
Cherry was the dominate taste. I got notes of pepper that gave it a penetrating taste. I had it was spaghetti and marinara sauce and they balanced each other out really well. — 9 years ago
Renwood Winery 2013 Jack Rabbit Flat Zinfandel
Strong aromatics of black currant and anise are woven together with crushed raspberry, sweet cream, and hints of cedar. On the palate, the layered complexity of this wine is complimented by its excellent weight and balance, making it a signature Jack Rabbit Flat Zinfandel. Fresh and teeming with black cherry and hazelnut, this Zinfandel will evolve beautifully in the bottle for years to come.
100% Zinfandel.

Ripe fruit, earthy, with plenty of soft tannins make this a truly enjoyable wine. Accompanied by braised rabbit ravioli and grilled lamb... very Toscana! — 6 years ago

Loved this Sangiovese. Nice, robust without being too big, good dark fruit. — 9 years ago
Dry and smooth, with some nice flavors mixed in between. Paired great with our spaghetti squash over turkey doused with pesto sauce. — 10 years ago
