Unbelievable, if not for my good friend Rick Powell and his great gift for my 50th, never would have had the great experience of this FANTASTIC Cab Sauv, thank you Rick and Christina! — 10 years ago
David Powell at his best. Great perfume nose with tons of red fruit. Australian old vine granache from Barossa. Hard to beat — 11 years ago
Local winery in Powell, delicious! Soft fruit notes, great chilled! — 11 years ago

Very smooth, a bit tangy but very refreshing on the whole. We enjoyed it with Greek food based on lamb. — 11 years ago
Medium acidity with a touch of honey. — 11 years ago
My last bottle. A surprising wine from younger vines, this is meant to be the "low end" wine from Torbreck. However, this wine has taken awhile to show its true potential. Excellent clarity with some brickishness at the edges. Still quite vibrant with at least another 5-7 years left in it. The mataro shows through strongly, but mixes well with the more forceful Aussie Grenache. The candied cherry mixes with a slight funkiness to give away the mataro, but intrigue you to want to know more. Obviously fined and filtered (no sediment to speak of at 11 years old) this is a restrained Barossa red, but very elegant. This is no "juvenile" but a precocious mistress, a Lolita, if you will. Worth seeking out. Worth having again. Dave Powell understands what this wine can be. Bravo. — 13 years ago
Torbreck founder David Powell spent several years in the Scottish highlands as a lumberjack in the Torbreck forest. With fruit sourced from all over the Barossa Valley, this Shiraz is dense with blackberry, vanilla, and a hint of black pepper. Classic Oz — 11 years ago
Having sipped this with Cambridge wine-tasting champion Rev Dr Gareth Stuart Powell (@KitchenW8) automatically a 10! Aside, robust fruity nose with dried dark cherry palate. 100% Sangiovese. Viva Italia;). — 11 years ago
