Most vintages of this wine are great pop and pour candidates but this one really benefitted from some time in the decanter. Both the tannins and the acid are strong. Nice flavors of raspberry, cola, baking spices and vanilla with mineral notes on the finish. — 8 years ago
The wine gods have smiled and urged me to open this ‘08 Pride cab. Tobacco, plum, a hint of wood ash and leather from a well-worn saddle bag. Seriously, this is at a premium place in its aging process. Thinking only another 2-3 years, so pop ‘em if you got ‘em. Toasting all of you, my friends, for a prosperous new year filled with wine, family and friends! — 8 years ago
04’ Joseph Phelps Insignia . Thought it would be close to a pop & pour...NO! Thick tannins that dissipate nicely after a 45 minute decant. Full - bodied.
Color- Dark purple
Nose- Flowers , lavender
Palate- Blackberry , espresso, light oak, nicely integrated acidity.
WOW... Seamless/smooth.
Drinking- now with another 5+? great years. Could possibly be many more. Drinking so nicely, why wait. — 8 years ago

Not bad for $11.97! Excellent with roasted tomato and braised bacon pasta at the Chez Benzique Oakland pop-up. — 9 years ago
2006 is in a better place than the 2007. Pop and pour. Improved with about 30 minutes of air. Drinking beautifully. Long, plush finish. — 10 years ago
Nice smooth Pinot. — 11 years ago
Yes the vintage precludes its vibrancy but this '80 is deeply engaging, put on weight throughout and was delicious. Despite pop 'n pour into small plastic cups. — 11 years ago
Interesting comparison tonight. Both wines 2007 from Greer Vineyard, same winemaker, different clones. Did the same comparison 5 yrs ago. Greer wine was better then and still is now. For us, the Arsenal was really great, but a bit too fruity, whereas the Greer was a bit more subtle, nuanced, and complete. Both quite good, but the edge goes to Greer. Both served pop and pour. No need for decant. — 7 years ago
Wow - that was fun / pop and pour a 2001 Syrah and had some funk but quickly it opened to display why Alban makes such wonderful wines
Spicy and meaty with full bodied and complex structure - aroma of jammy fruits but no heat no burn and no funk / it can sing
Smile and world will smile with you and this baby sure helps me smile - drink if you have - it is on the downslope of age — 8 years ago

Fantastic! Intense, smoky, earthy, and sexy. Spices and cherries to boot. Pop and pour. Paired beautifully with venison. Juicy, creamy, and sweet finish. At its peak! — 8 years ago
Fruit forward, offering a pop of black fruits supported by a hint of oak and spice with, perhaps, some dark chocolate. Held up to Italian fare very well. Probably not a good pair with delicate foods. — 8 years ago
10' Bressler. Cabernet. This is my second venture into Bressler . The first being the 2006 which was a pop & pour. This 2010 needs a nice decanting. @Martin G Rivard What can I say? We greatly appreciate your generosity. My wife's gonna snuggle up with this for the next several hours. To all my delectable friends, wishing each one of you a healthy and prosperous 2017! Happy New Year !🍾🍾 — 9 years ago

I found this to be a very enjoyable wine. I was hoping for a little bit more Oak. I'm not quite sure how it would evolve over time. I always find these to be a great pop and pour wine. I never hang on to them too long in my cellar.
I would love feedback from anyone that has aged some of these to see how they evolve.@Ron R @Mike Rowe @David A Lentine @Howard Greenfield — 9 years ago

Yummy inexpensive blend. Smooth. — 10 years ago

Great! But the pop if the cork left me worried at first taste it had a heavy taste of raisin, and very long aftertaste but twenty minutes of just sitting the bottle the wine spread out and bloomed into a real pleasure with a nice raisin and oat taste. Loved it. — 12 years ago

An impossible Rose to get, but thanks to @Henrik Poulsen I got some along with an even better story. We will be trying his Rose in two weeks with a bunch of friends. I'm sure it will be as good. Had this during the crazy heat wave a few weeks back. It made having no a/c bearable. — 8 years ago

Have to think of Mark Stull every time you pop a bottle of Chappellet! Unfortunately it didn't stand up to the Paradigm last night. Decent nose, plenty of fruit, but either needs some age or some more refining. I enjoyed it, but better cabs at this price point. — 9 years ago
I suspect this didn't get quite enough air. Not quite pop and pour but it was only open for 45 mins before we drank it (we were perhaps over-concerned about the mid shoulder level). Lovely (and lively) russet core with long legs as a ruby rim; nose of pencil shavings, cigar tubes (hint of metal with lots of tobacco), blackberry stalks, and lingering aromas of compté cheese rind and venerable (on-the-edge) rose petals; long and satisfying - persistent tannins and well integrated but still present acidity. From half bottle - need to give the next one more time!!! — 10 years ago
Just about a perfect rep of a fine Italian wine. Pop it and drink it. Paired with a nice florentine steak will make you feel like an angel baby swaddled in cloud candy. Roses, velvety tannins and fruit. — 10 years ago
Great! Will pop, bubbly. But smell a little weird? Like cinnamon? And a little bit 涩 after drinking — 11 years ago
