Brown sugar, chocolate, honey, brick, and thyme aromas with plenty of mushroom and turmeric, cedar, baked apple with cinnamon, and orange zest. Smoky middle with grainy tannins in an explosively extracted cauldron of spice. Decanting this one for further review, but initially, black olive, cassis, black pepper, maduro tobacco, black cherry, black currant, blackberry reduction and fire pit. Was quite sweet and sharp on the nose when I first opened the bottle. Lovely dark ripe fruits at work, a touch of chocolate and pepper emerging from those brooding overtones. Very clean and soft finish with decent length. Love it. — 13 years ago
