In 2016 to drink 50 year old Bordeaux.... Who knew. This wine was past peak but yummy.... Classic payload with cedar and tobacco but still showing fruit. Better than expected and a nice example of aged Bordeaux. — 11 years ago

Deep purple color drove anticipation. Excellent start with a interesting nose which was not as bold as expected. However, I appreciated the fruit which was presented. The texture as you drink still remains delicate, yet pleasing. Plum and cherry with soft tannins. A finish that doesn't disappoint which invites you back. Good at $85 if you can find it. Over $125 would be pushing it in my opinion. — 11 years ago

I've had this bottle in the cellar for a LONG time (probably past peak)...waiting for the right occasion. Here is to ten eventful years of Builders Bargain. Jammy, delicate flavor. 13 years of aging has given this a very earthy quality. Decanted for 90 minutes but should get even more spectacular through the evening. Cheers! — 10 years ago
