Mclaren Vale Grenache Blend 2015

Fresh bright nose. Prominent raspberry amongst red fruit sweet palate. Dryish finish with final kick. Amazingly good with chevre. Survived well in bottle overnight. Enjoyed. — 9 years ago

Langhorne Creek Touriga Nacional 2012

Quite a big, powerful wine, as you'd expect. Dark fruits, plum and spice. Soft tannins and deep long finish. I liked it. Seemed richer than the 13.5 suggests but it's Pannell and very good. — 10 years ago

Balhannah Vineyard Shiraz 2013

One of the best examples of Aus cool climate shiraz I've ever drank along with Mayer, Pannell and Lambert. Gets a little on the $$$ side but well worth it given the right occasion. — 10 years ago

@Jeremy Pollard you are following closely, that is a compliment.
For me set and setting plays a big part in my scoring.
Am I at work in a winemakers office?, am I at the cellar door on a beautiful Sunday with my wife?
Are there 10-20 wines on tasting for comparison?
On the day I scored it a 9.4, I'll revisit soon :)

You're spot on, Scott! Numerical scores are such a tricky thing and I, like you, find it near impossible to separate out the wine from the experience. (And confession: I also have a real soft spot for Tappanappa!) ;)
