It's CA Pinot and Burgundy night! Sour/tart/dark cooked fruits. Dark cherries, ripe but tart raspberries, underripe blackberries/seeds, irony minerals, chalk, light black earth followed by wet pebbles with ripe black plum, dry fig and a blueberry pancake finish. Digging these 2014s from Alsace. Lighter for sure, but fresh, clean, precise. Plenty of charm from Riesling, Muscat, & Pinot blanc. Bacchus himself could not have fashioned a more magical pairing with seafood pancake. — 11 years ago
