Laser like precision and intensity with a real 'wow' factor of pure fruit and bracing acidity almost like a white wine. A burst of flavour, all red fruit and elusive secondary characteristics typical of the Nebbiolo grape, could be flowers, nuts, tar and leather, among other things. The upfront qualities give way to pastille and a hint of luxurious truffle-like qualities on the finish, which unfolds long and generously, a minute would seem about right if you were measuring duration. First hints of browning in the glass hint at its age but for me this is drinking perfectly and is actually rather good value at $65. Vintages online purchase. — 10 years ago
