An initial California 2012 look - no rhyme/reason...a little Cab, Prop. Red, Pinot and possibly an outlier or two. The rest are tagged the same. This one ranked #2. — 11 years ago

2001: Not the expected Valmur richness from the start. Surprisingly tart, like biting into a granny smith apple. Lively, yet puzzling with each sip. Where was the lemon lime zip, giving way to a lemon custard vanilla tart? Not this bottle. Continued to develop slowly, yet the edge never fully mellowed. An outlier, that I now want to try again. — 11 years ago

Had a California classic with a traditional Rhône Valley end-of-harvest lunch! It was an obvious New World outlier...not bad company for the fromage. — 12 years ago
Wow, incredibly youthful with acids and focus. A brilliant outlier in a Corton tasting. — 11 years ago
