Orleans is a rare white wine grape variety grown in small proportions in Pfalz, Germany.
As a wine, Orleans has distinctive pineapple aromas and a slight spiciness. It shows excellent aging potential but, as it can be challenging in the vineyard, it is consequently quite unpopular with winemakers.

2012, Clos des Vignes du Maynes. Cuvee 910 Macon-Cruzille Pinot Noir/Gamay/Chardonnay Field Blend. A favorite wine from a favorite producer. The Chardonnay really changes the whole palate.
