Worried it might be a little natty for my taste at first but the funk blows off quickly to reveal a fragrant & expressive wine—orange peel, orange blossom, fennel pollen, pumpkin and a gorgeous salinity.
It’s a wine that really sings with seafood. Had it with Provençal Cod with olives and fennel.
Her winemaking talent really shines in the texture—particularly the finish. Definitely a lot of skin contact here, but the tannins are elegant and the finish is crisp, salty and refreshing —no graininess or bitterness.

#sauternes so sweet and balanced. Third of three bottles for my wife’s 40th birthday. We saved the best for last, as it turns out. Honeyed layers as this gently warms in a Burgundy bowl - caramel, marzipan, toasted almonds, some petrol, apricot jam. Tastes exactly how it smells with the acidity taking a step back from the honey sweetness swirling around a luscious oily mouthfeel. Touch of orange pith bitterness on the finish - lovely wine. Indeed it pairs well with Indian food but the force of this wine could have easily matched even spicier dishes. Beautiful wine and what’s amazing is it seemed this wine could easily go another 20 years. Good Sauternes is ever youthful. — 4 years ago

Really lovely orange. Bright, apricot, very smooth finish. — 4 months ago
Super interesting. Not as acidic and complex. Beautiful on the nose. Straddling between orange and white. — 6 months ago
Wonderful orange Malvasia di Candia Aromatica. Minerals, acidity, herbs, — 7 months ago
This white dessert wine has a most beautiful, rich-looking copper color. The nose is just as enticing, with big aromas of orange candy and dried apricots. The palate is a sheer delight. It is sweet enough to be dessert on its own, but has enough acidity to pair with your favorite after-dinner sweets or a selection of cheeses. It is pricy, but it is an experience that can be savored. — a year ago
Home made Buche de Noelle with a sauternes to finish off the Christmas lunch with the French part of my family. Two classics next to each other. Well balanced, orange peel, little bitter, salty finish. All smiles. Thank you @Peter Zandbergen or the bottle! — 3 years ago

Excellent orange / skin maceration wine with some age on it. Enjoyed at Monterey in midtown with tonight’s special Lobster El Diablo (spicy tomato sauce with 3lb lobster flambéed in tequila). Good acidity and some good flavor with the spice. — 8 months ago
Dark yellow on color. Definitely mellowed more but oaky. Interesting to try a later vintage. This was ok but may have been a bit too aged. — 3 years ago
Solid and definitely needed the aerator but aging well. Will be excellent in a few years. Deep and earthy. Lots of dark fruit. — 4 years ago
Refreshing, medium body. Very drinkable. — 4 years ago

Deep amber color in a 375ml format. Non-descript on the nose with a hint of neutral oak. Clean and clear in the class with rich honey and a finish of candied orange peels. Some soft floral notes that I cannot fully discern. An amazingly good pairing with Asian inspired honey beef stir fry — 4 months ago
