Wish more of their wines had this slight added layer of ripeness. From 85 year old vines grown on pure sand in Alexander Valley. Made in a concrete egg. A huge surprise. — 10 years ago

I drank this at their open house, and at the time I thought it was one of the best 2011's we tasted. This is another example of a wine that will have the "experts" pondering the 2011 vintage. True story: at some point in this bottle's 23 years of aging, the cork sank into the bottle. When I saw that that had happened, I thought I'd lost this treasure. I thought it had to be bad, but nope. This legendary wine withstood the test of time! Even without a cork intact, the wine stayed really, really good. Thank goodness and yummmmm-y! — 12 years ago
