Nice wine...still very young. Lots of tannins-practically chewing on wood for a while. Fantastic once it opened up. It was particularly amazing with cheese tonight! — 8 years ago
A high acid on the finish but this will be a great wine once it has time to fully resolve itself. — 9 years ago
In magnum, only 188 made, 13.5% but I couldn't tell, loved the fruit, the density — 9 years ago
Big and grippy for a Pinot Noir. Great bottle and old vintage still strong. — 10 years ago
Even amongst great company, a cut above. For once a legend lives up to the hype. — 10 years ago
Very fruit forward with a smooth finish. Detect a lot of brown sugar. After letting it breathe got more of the maple flavor. Light body. Very light tannins. — 10 years ago
1959 and still with strong fruit, a powerful, finessed body, and beautiful structure - great acidity to balance the strong body. Smooth with a vibrant kick, but definitely some expected musty earth with this age. Fruit is a bit raisinated but present and persistent. Don't dally once it's open - enjoy! Truly a well made wine. Tasting this was a wonderful reward after sweating through getting the cork out safely! — 10 years ago
Really enjoyed this once some of the forward alcohol got out of the way. A bit tart on the finish, but nice balance of acidity and earthiness and a touch of fruit. Good intro to Burgundy for my family. — 11 years ago
Once again, Orin Swift has created a well balanced full body and amazing! — 12 years ago
Long, mint and cinnamon. Once in a while it is nice to feel like you are drinking a great bottle at exactly the right time. — 6 years ago
Multilayered and changes once the wine gets some time to breath. So smooth, rich and creamy. Dark fruits and great with a meal. One of my top 10 favorite wines — 9 years ago
Funky at first but subsequently blown away. Fresh, leathery, flowery, with some structure. Can tell it was once a great bottling. A bit long over due. — 9 years ago
What a beautiful Barbaresco! I decanted if for about two hours to soften it up. Once I started drinking it, yum! Rich, aromatic (just beautiful on the nose), and just a joy to drink. It had a great balance between tannins, dryness, and dark fruit (berries, plum). For the price at Costco, it's quite a steal. — 9 years ago
Sweet cheese and rice! Every once and a while, when playing golf, you have that one shot that makes you come back which makes up for all the other bad shots. This wine is like that - found 2 bottles in the back of some suburban wine store hidden with an orange half price sticker - opens big but then smooths out - barnyard and hay on the nose, smooth pallet, tannins but not too much, dark cherry and a hint of Anise. — 10 years ago
Tyler's new favorite dinner wine! — 10 years ago
Deep red w/ brick edge; nose of plums, cassis. Herbs; lovely attack of soft sweet cassis fruit, some plums, cedar notes in the finish. Not as big as it once was it is still gloriously lovely to drink and taste for a full minute after swallowing. Drink now. — 11 years ago
Once it opened up, I discovered a smooth, complex friend from Spain. — 11 years ago
Very smooth! — 12 years ago
The 2004 Dom Perignon Champagne is sinfully good at fifteen years of age. Showing off its downright sexy golden hue, the wine evolves quickly once in the glass displaying a dazzling array of aromatics, from orchard fruits to peat moss and toasty brioche as well as shades of salted Marcona almond that all nicely meld together. The palate yields a wonderful combination of richness and tension. There is a lovely ripe, almost unctuous texture to this aged Champagne. Flavors of salted macadamia nut, ripe pear, kumquat zest and shades of Shiitake mushroom with lighter biscuit undertones all combine brilliantly. This is a satisfying, downright hedonistic champagne that will be extremely long-lived. Drink 2019-2040- 97 — 6 years ago

Once in a lifetime wine... so lucky to have tasted this — 9 years ago
This is definitely a great bottle. High alcohol but once it opens up the bouquet is marvelous; Vanilla, baking spices, fresh berries and cream. All upfront taste... bright fruit, berries, orange notes, red apple skin, medium-high tannins but all upfront clean finish, surprisingly light body. I would recommend this wine and would be an easy seller with a decent price point. — 9 years ago
Super tight after double decanting... The 2011s need to lay down longer than 09 or 10. Once it softens up this is a crowd pleaser can, big red fruits, tannins are there, but it's a soft presence. Always a fun wine. — 9 years ago
Tasty!! Sweet, very slightly dry, strong cherry notes, with a touch of cranberry, cardamom, and vanilla. The nose is extremely pleasant, full of cherry and oak. Very, very nice — 10 years ago
Smooth, complex and balanced all at once.

Interesting wine that only seemed to get better with time.... Once it properly opened up after 75 min or so it was unbelievable. — 10 years ago
Favorite wine so far. Very refreshing. Bought it because of the name/ label, haven't found one to top it yet. — 12 years ago
Once in a life time! Hopefully twice! — 13 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
A blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot, blended then aged for 24 months in 50% new and 50% once-used American oak. Deep Ruby color with aromas of black fruit, licorice and minty floral notes. The palate beautifully displays rich ripe blackberry and black cherry, a hint of sweetness, vivid acidity and the right touch of toasty vanilla oak, still youthful in development. The wine has nicely integrated tannins, still holds some grip on a long finish which should give way to let this wine age for the next decade+. Excellent, Tasting Sample! — 6 years ago
