This one is a showstopper. Complex and big. Heavy but with grace. Some really nice cab sauv components (88%) but you definitely get the petit Verdot (12%) too. Cassis, plum, blackberry fruits lead out but with some smoked cigar and tobacco leaf that is undeniable. Graphite and menthol. Its balanced perfectly with firm tannins and large acidity. A wine of contradiction. Brilliant ruby w translucent edges. Energetic fruit on the nose, especially present when poured alongside 2010 West ridge. But the palate is all earth and spice. Awesome — 9 years ago

Decanted for 90 mins and was impressed. Depth of the second half of the bottle after 24 hours was even more impressive. Big range on this.
