12:2024. nice fruit and finish. Nice color and sits well on the palate. Paired well with the short ribs at Mr. Friendly’s. — 5 months ago
Decanted 1+hrs but needs more like 3-4. Grape Now & Laters and lots of alcohol on the nose. Palate contains dark cherries with some herbs. Wine improved vastly with time. Medium depth and finish. Below expectations, but age and a longer decant may change that. — 6 months ago
2014 vintage. Excellent fill and cork. Not decanted. Tasted after 1.25 hours open. The best red I’ve ever tasted from Paul Hobbs (and have had approx 125 samples over the years-including the high-end bleep). In a really admirable place currently between integration and balance, fruit and tannins. Will it improve? Doubtful. Can it hold steady for a spell? Definitely. Not exactly the biggest fan of what consists of To Kalon/Tokalon juice/interpretation these days vs the 60’s/70’s/80’s/earlyish 90’s but this was phenomenal. Medium body with respectable sed. A mullet wine…all business up front with a party on the back palate. Color me surprised and impressed. 11.8.24. — 6 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Best on Day 2. The 2013 “Au Paradis” pours a deep ruby with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears and some signs of light sediment. On the nose, developing the wine is developing with notes of brambles, plums, tobacco, some leather and woody notes, vanilla and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and the texture is pretty plush. To my palate, pretty much a fastball right down the middle of the plate and not quite as intriguing as the “Les Pavots” from the same vintage. Drink now with some patience and through 2038. — 9 months ago
Delicious, full bodied but not overpowering. Complimented my filet meal.
Highly recommend — 5 years ago
Low Fruit, vines grown on volcanic soil. Almost has a beautiful ash or smoke quality emerging from it, this is a wine that should age for a while, tannins are nice and exposed. — 9 years ago
Very nice Cab! Had with Laurie at the Warehouse! Big and bold — 10 years ago
Enjoyable with an abundance of fruit and soft tannins. I was hoping to wait, sadly it was my last bottle. — 4 months ago
Fruit fading but still there with a long satisfying finish on the palates — 4 months ago
The last time I had this was at The French Laundry trying to convince someone to support a nonprofit I love. The subsequent gift was generous but, somehow, underwhelming. This wine is like that. A great vintage, a great vineyard, in great hands, but it had so much more potential. I’m not whining about a 97-point wine; I’m lucky to enjoy it. But it could’ve been even more. — 5 months ago

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Pretty nose of blackberries, black currants, cedar, herbs, light earth, wild flowers, light vanilla, licorice, spices, tobacco, chocolates and black pepper.
Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, blackberries, sweet cherries, chocolates, coffee, cedar, vanilla, spices, light licorice and peppercorn.
Long finish with medium tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 4-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon from the problematic 2020 vintage in Napa Valley is drinking beautifully now. Spicy, fruit forward and entertaining.
Good right out of the bottle and gets more complex as it opens up. I decanted it for 2 hours. Gets earthier after 4 hours in the decanter.
Soft and elegant with a tangy finish. Complex, with a nice mouthfeel. This Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is Delicious.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years. Has good potential to become a 93+ point wine. I had the 2013 before, and loved it too.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food like a nice piece of steak.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged in (50% new) French Oak barrels for 24 months.
14.2% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a short purplish rim.
On the nose blackberries, black cherries, earth, black plums, cedar leather, vanilla, tobacco, chocolates, coffee and black pepper.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate and very fruity, with blackberries, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, espresso, cola, light herbs, earth, chocolates tobacco, spices and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up.
This 6 year old is still young, but already very enjoyable. From the great 2016 vintage, and it is showing.
As it opens up (two hours), more complexity and structure come in, well worth being patient. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
Robert Parker 98 points.
Ripe and fruit forward. Extracted and rich. A gorgeous wine.
14.9% alcohol by volume.
94 points.

What an elegant wine. The deft integration of all the wines component pieces in its overall sense of equilibrium was near perfect. And it tasted 🤤 yummy. — 4 years ago
Decanted for 90 mins and was impressed. Depth of the second half of the bottle after 24 hours was even more impressive. Big range on this. Dark rich fruits and the lead is the nose as others have said. I’ll be back (yes! I wrote that before realizing what I was writing). My first experience with a Turnbull was a success. — 6 years ago
Very very impressive ! Superior and different from most Napa red blends. Subtle notes of chocolate and dark fruits, gentle acidity that wrap a sweet and sour delicious package! — 9 years ago
