Strawberry, cranberry, raspberry and apple mouth. Slightly (really slightly) oily mouthfeel. Good line of necessary acidity to give it zip and hold the structure together. Honey on the finish. Finish is long, but could be longer. — 7 years ago

The 2010 vintage of Quinta Ferreira Estate Winery Shiraz is 13.7% ABV and plum purple colour. The wine offers supple aromatics with flavours of ripe strawberry, plum, and hints of black pepper, blackberry, hazelnut, dark chocolate and black sage. The Syrah fruit was grown in the desert climate of the Black Sage Bench in Oliver British Columbia, B.C. Canada, in the heart of the BC VQA Okanagan Valley, referred to as a primary wine capital of Canada. Medium plus tannins and full bodied, this wine is well balanced and juicy. Tasted early 2015, this wine is well integrated and will be easily enjoyed at its best from 2015-2020. Recommend enjoying with pepperoni pizza with sundried tomatoes, Portugese prepared salmon, savoury seared pork tenderloin, beef chili, lamb steaks, beef stew, Montreal smoked meat. — 9 years ago

1993 Screaming Eagle Cab. Drank at Press w K, Iana, S, and AG. Such a treat and very interesting as Kplanned it as a comp with the 1991 Harlan. For the first hour or so, we all favored the SE. Super unctuous and round, like velvet in the mouth. Then the wines came to temp and the picture completely changed and we all grew to favor the Harlan. Interestingly, the SE got flabby and very, very sweet. A thought it was bc it lacked the tannins that the Harlan showed. Anyway, SE turned almoSt port-like, with a nose of dates, raisins, and prunes. Amazing and fun to see the change throughout the night. — 9 years ago
