Every now and then A wine that I love comes around with butter and spice and everything nice and this is it! Kathryn by Hall winery 2014 Napa Cab sauv. The bouquet is spicy and oaky! Lots of black licorice. The color of coarse is very dark. You can see the thickness before giving the legs a chance to run. The initial pallet is blackberry blueberry boysenberry deliciousness. The spice hits immediately on the tongue. Oak cigar and other earthtones bring up the rear. The finish leaves your mouth coated in butter As it slips down the throat. It is not overly dry at all. I don’t need water, I just need another sip. Pure perfection as far as my palate is concerned!!!!!! — 8 years ago

Drinking the 2008 in 2017. Deep deep purple color. Thick long legs that last beyond the norm. Soft bouquet with hints of cherry, plum and raisin. Smooth on the tongue, low tannins and you can taste the aged oak! Cherry hints and earthy. Full bodied and smooth to the end. — 9 years ago

I get green papaya or green pineapple on the nose. Lychee too. Dryer on the tongue than on the nose, I was surprised - pleasantly! Very easy to drink. I will buy this again. It'll stand alone or be good w/ food. Most white drinkers in a crowd would like this. — 11 years ago

Raisin red/brown. Sugar plum nose. Raisin, leather with light tannins and only slightly more acidity. Changing fkavors as it opened up. Short finish, but still clings to the tongue. The sweetness went well with spicy Indian food. — 11 years ago

Better spice and everything nice blackberry jam with the slam. This is a dark beautiful cab from Cali! This one needed one hour to decant. The bouquet is blackberry and cherry soda. The initial palate is full of dark fruits like currants, blackberries, figs, and grapes. The mid palate comes quick with silky buttery thickness. There is a taste of spice and black pepper. The finish is still buttery with a semi dry oaky ending. The next time someone orders butter, this will be my pick. The only drawback is a slight tart ending on the roof of my mouth and the edges of my tongue. — 8 years ago

Color of dark ruby. Nose is chocolate, plum, raisin, spicy alcohol, and tiny bit of medicinal note. Taste is sweet, with peppery abs spicy mouth feel, sweet raisins, milk chocolate, a bit zesty, and really mellow but enough density on the tongue. Aftertaste is some spicy note again but still very smooth. A bit too much bitter note in the after taste. — 8 years ago
