Not a Pinot Noir for the newbie. More Burgundy, less California with a bouquet of tarragon, cedar, mint, redwood, black cherries, blood orange peel, green olive, sea spray, and smoked game meats. Intense, complex and a real joy for a lover of earthy, terroir-driven Pinots with a character. β 7 years ago

Delicious, smooth, a little fruity but not sweet, will buy again! β 9 years ago
One of the first few vintages of Bill Sweat's and Donna Morris' Pinot Noir is still drinking quite well. Softened a bit and still has some complexity and is pleasant. β 7 years ago

Tasty Gruner with stone fruit complexity and racy acidity. Well worth the $25 price tag. Very flexible on food options to pair with This wine ranging from Asian to CA French.

Beautiful color, smooth, sweet but not too much so, flavorful. β 9 years ago
All over the map and thatβs what made it stand out. Earthy, leather, white pepper, cola, while also heavy on red fruit. Bigger high alcohol pinot yet smooth. Dry, lingering finish. β 6 years ago
Domaine Coche Dury is arguably the most sought after internationally of white Burgundy domains according to Jasper Morris MW in his tome βInside Burgundy β. This wine had aromas of Lemon and Citrus flowers. On the palate Lemon juice - lean with mineral and M plus acidity. In hindsight should have left this last one for a few years. A wine of restraint and elegance - a tinge of honey after a while. For the Coche Dury village style only 25% new wood is used. This wine rarity was suggested to me years ago by a former owner of Prince Wine store and Burgundy nut Phillip Rich. Must seek out later vintages. β 6 years ago

Blackberries and cherries, soft tannins and velvety texture. A touch of tar and tobacco come through on the finish. An approachable wine that is ideal with a late night burger following A Night At The Opera (with terrific Mark Morris choreography accompanying Purcell and Britten). β 8 years ago
Drinking great. Big wine. High alcohol. Still life in it. β 9 years ago

This was a real treat. Concentration and Intensity off the charts. Liquid raisins, toffee chocolate and fruit cake with the viscosity and consistency of engine oil. Leading Australian wine scribe James Halliday has never given π― points to a table wine but he gave π― to this fortified, as did James Suckling π― and Huon Hooke 98 points. The base vintages in this can go back to 100 years ( the average base sits between 20 and 40 years). Rutherglen Muscat is one of Australiaβs gifts to the vinous world. β 6 years ago
