Il Molino di Grace

Riserva Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2007

Got the 2007 riserva in Panzano. Full, smooth, cherries, plums, a little leather, maybe a little white pepper. Delicious. — 12 years ago

Pagos de Molino

Arras de Bobal 2004

Deeply opaque wine moving towards a tawny color. Nose has dark black fruit, sweet vanilla, toast, and a bit of honeysuckle. Palate is full and mouthcoating with mocha, blackberries, white pepper, and baking spices. Acidity is crisp, tannins are firm, and the finish is long. The wine is rustic, unusual and tasty. — 12 years ago

Molino di Sant' Antimo

Molino di Sant' Antimo Brunello di Montalcino

Lovely example with classic Sangiovese profile: sour cherry, high acid and smooth tannin, medium body. High alcohol. But in more interesting terms this is summertime in your angsty teen years. You and your (maybe stoned) friends want a sundae. But like, (long story I will tell on the blog) you end up with a classic sundae because someone's parents have good taste so it is basic but...better. And this wine's vanilla and cherries are baller. No maraschino in this game. Semi-feral red fruits of all types hanging in new American oak for say, a month or so before deciding to hang with the older Europeans they spotted smoking in the corner... — 10 years ago

Tasted this wine in Trastevere within a cellar that had walls built as early as 80BC. Now I will admit, the romance of Roman history may have influenced my rating. But this wine went very well with our suppli. — 11 years ago
