Baby, it’s cold outside. Falling near 70! The stouts are out! This sleek black beauty has it all! Thick, even lacing in two tone cafe shades, a cumulus attitude. Clean almond and cacao pod with a lemon pith aura. Bee pollen, waterfall rocks and northern oyster shell, including a light brine. Medium mouthfeel and soft minerality prevailas sips reduce the lace to alphabet soup fonts and ultimately horror forests. Unexpectedly clean, with coffee-cola notes and caramelized onion minus the burn. Crispy vanilla that turns creamy with agitation. Steely, smoky, pepper crackers, and bitter violets. #boulevardbrewing #darktruth #kcbeer #stout #dankdark — 6 years ago
2012 vintage. On the paler side of ruby. Savoury and red fruit character - raspberry and strawberry. Mineral overtones. Complex. On the palate, high acidity, medium body and medium plus alcohol, medium minus tannins - rounded. Good concentration of flavour, particularly in the mid palate. Long-ish finish. Very good. Drink now until 2027. — 7 years ago
85% Carménère and four other varieties. Some of it ages in first-use French oak. This results in great body and flavors. Lots of red fruit (mainly cherries), spices, licorice, toffee, vanilla and toast. A great wine! Um blend com 85% Carménère e 4 outras uvas nos 15% restantes. Parte do vinho amadurece em carvalho francês de primeiro uso. Resultado disso tudo? Muita fruta vermelha (predomínio de cerejas maduras), especiarias, alcaçuz, tosta, caramelo e baunilha. Uma delícia! — 7 years ago
Ruby color of med. minus intensity with amber towards rim. Damp earth, dried cherry and dried dark fruit nose. Same flavors plus a little mineral / iron? Med. body. Pleasant mouthfeel with. Medium minus acid. Subtle dark dried fruit and damp earth blending into a long finish. Great! — 8 years ago
Delicious wine. Benefits greatly from decanting. Firm pleasurable tannins. This wine is a keeper and in 3-4 years will be amazing. Rating the wine where it is now. Will buy more bottles to lay down.👍🏼 — 8 years ago
Tangerine and mandarin oranges with some light minerality and some nice soft, creamy edges. Medium-minus complexity, but what's there has great texture and acidity. — 8 years ago
Tide pool, reeds, oak, ash, dried berries, currants, leather, blueberries — 10 years ago
Had the 2103 vintage, on the sweet side, but not sickeningly sweet. — 4 years ago
2010 vintage. Medium golden hue. On the nose, deep concentration of aromas. Waxy, canned apricots, white pepper, white flower, cream and hazelnut. On the palate, medium minus acidity, medium plus alcohol, full body and concentration. Longish finish. Very good. Would probably wait another 2+ years to reach another level. Drink now until 2022+. NB: serve chilled, as becomes fat as gets to room temperature. — 7 years ago
Medium lemon. Crime brûlée, almond apple croissant, creame, flowers, white chocolate with almonds, chalk. Medium acidity, medium minus sugar, medium alcohol — 8 years ago
Medium plus lemon. Bruised apples, hazelnuts, pine nuts. Medium plus to high acidity, medium minus sugar, medium plus alcohol — 8 years ago
Imagine aged plums and white cherries blowing a hole through the back of your skull like a 12 gauge. That only partially captures the experience of this amarone on the nose. Medium minus acidity and gentle tannins make this quaffable, yet still deserving of a considered reflection. High quality producer, corked. — 8 years ago
Medium minus garnet. Forest floor, cherry, raspberry, misty, basil, feather. Medium acidity, medium sugar. — 8 years ago
Wow, real knockout stuff. This is not domestic Muscadet - there's not much in common besides the grape. It has the bright, pure fruit but it is put together in a much fuller style, more like a white Burgundy (minus the oak) than Muscadet. I don't say Chablis because while it's an intensely mineral wine and cranked up to 11 in that department, it's not a marine minerality. The mineral element here is volcanic (and so is the soil), bringing to mind all those cliches about aromas bursting from the glass and so forth, and it's every bit as driving on the palate. — 9 years ago
Rare that I like this - not too sweet — 10 years ago
Medium minus garnet. Very fresh and fruity hibiscus, raspberry, stemmy, licorice. Medium body (13.3%), pretty high acid, medium minus powdery astringency. Lovely balance. Better without food. — 6 years ago
Dark ruby color, medium minus body, medium acidity. Ripe cherry, floral and tobacco with a nice long finish. — 6 years ago
Bright red fruit with well balanced acid and medium minus silky tannins. This is what burgundies should taste like. — 7 years ago
Always a pleasure to have a Chateauneuf du Pape from a leading producer in a good vintage with a bit of age. Smokey cherry aromas with liquorice. With air savoury raspberry notes appeared. Medium bodied with medium minus weight tannins and a lovely balance - multi faceted and changing as time progressed although the garrigue of CDP was ever present. Love this style and this winery. — 7 years ago
2007 vintage. Clos de Rougeard, Le Bourg. At Hotel Les Crayeres in Reims. Medium ruby hue. The nose is outstanding - huge complexity of mixed berries with a fresh raspberry dominance, spices, licorice, herbs, white pepper, saddle leather, herbal tea. With air, some smokey gun flint. Amazing. On the palate, a little tight - medium minus body, medium plus acidity, medium alcohol and very long finish. Good concentration - savoury and spicy. Wonderful. Drink now until 2036+. — 8 years ago
Very solid! Almost soft grapey cab minus the tannins. No complex spicy second note, but great finish. Had this at a restaurant, not sure on the bottle price, but big fan. — 8 years ago

Bob McDonald
Made from the other White Burgundy grape, Aligote. Made by probably the most famous name in Burgundy, Aubert de Villaine and his American born wife, Pamela. Aubert is the wine director and proprietor of the Domaine de la Romanee Conti. This is his own personal project. The wine itself:- Mid lemon in colour. Herbs, citrus and a touch of aniseed on the nose. The palate is very citric and mineral with a noticeable saline note. More palate weight than it had a few years ago. Medium minus Acid. Drinking well now and no need to cellar any further. Great winemaking at an affordable price. — 4 years ago
