High acidity and intensely mineral.
This tastes like wet river rocks and farmers market greens.
Could drink this all day!! — 10 months ago
Medium deep ruby , medium wide ruby rim . A bit more mineral , oyster shell, and dark cassis on the nose , wood spice touches . On the palate quite mineral and dark fruit focused , blackcurrant , cassis . Good focus on the palate , saline with good acidity and grippy but ripe tannins . Promising , though needs time , better in 10 years and will last a further 10-15 . — a year ago
Served this beauty on 2 occasions with Vinloq Preservation
DAY 1
👃Precocious yellow fruit (grapefruit and lemon) and green apples, flinty minerals, white pepper, and grassy herbals
👅Lemon oil with white pepper and spirited minerality. The fruit is more round and more restrained than on the nose.
Salty. Great acidity. The oak treatment is spot on. Long dry, mineral laced finish. So good
The remaining wine was Slow Decanted in my refrigerator and finished a week later
DAY 7
Such a glorious nose on this burgundy. Really delightful. White flowers and peach and even some tropical fruit notes. Flinty and expressive. Totally lovely on both occasions
I knew this was likely young but I was curious to try my first bottle. It's clearly drinking well now but it's going to be stellar with more bottle age.
I am looking forward to revisiting another bottle in time🥂

Mineral, lemon mouth watering and rich — 4 years ago
Superb nose. So so expressive. Iced lemon sherbert, limestone, airiness, iodine. Very perfumed. Palate is elegant with huge acids and such delicacy. Very mineral. Some stone fruits but much more about minerals than anything. Complex and very concentrated with dazzling purity and freshness. This is showing out of its mind. — 5 years ago
Nice dense mineral core. Power with precision. Starting to drink really well after 3-4 hours in decanter. — 6 years ago
😎 £34 bargain Grand Cru from my fav Chablis producer 😍that's fab now in ☀️ but will go on for many years 👍
🍷 Light straw yellow
👃 A refreshing citrus waterfall crashing over mineral rocks splashing green apple skins & white flowers at ya 💥
👄 Med creamy, but not syrup, punchy zingy zesty zap injection to the saliva glands invoking a mineral monster mash in med+ acidity w/ grapefruit tiny tickle
🎯 Long citric w/ touch green apple & grapefruit mineral dribble 💦
Drink slightly warmer to release 💥 — 8 years ago
Aromas of lemon & verbena, nougat, marzipan & shortbread, crushed stones…but could a wine taste more yellow?!?! From lemon to pear, w golden delicious, mirabelle, quince, yuzu & star fruit ~ simultaneously rich yet electric w vibrant sappy juice, acidic core and a dusty mineral finish balancing the experience out! — 10 months ago
Lived up to all expectations. Beautiful balance, nose and structure. Crisp stone fruits, slight mineral, hint of pineapple at end. Love it — a year ago
Mineral and cut. Precise. Have one more bottle to check in on down the road. — 2 years ago
I love weltner. love. Love. Love. So underrated bc he’s in Franken.
Nose is screamingly mineral. Some lemon peel. A hint of Grapefruit perfume.
Palate is large sized pebbles. Angular in a good way. Has that hidden density. Pink grapefruit as it opens. Masterful. Masterful.
An hour in sweet rocks on the finish.

Had this over a year ago, this is a new batch, a Fav! Rodolphe Péters took over the reins of this venerable estate in the southern Côte des Blancs in 2008, becoming the fourth generation to lead since the estate was founded in 1919, under the name Camille Péters. 100% Chardonnay, Crisp, fine mousse with steady flow of bubbles. Citrus, and biscuit aromas. Fresh fruit flavors of peach, apples and lemons, smooth and dry. Long mineral finish ending with elegance. Nice! — 5 years ago
Gulpable goodness. Bright fresh mineral white smoke berry fruit #zinccountertop — 10 years ago
Was super excited to try this wine upon receiving it.
There is a slight mineral ( iron ) taste .is this normal? Cork was brittle and broke slightly. — 11 years ago

My first Gonon StJo…unfortunately, I loved it. Wish these were easier to find at good prices!
At 8yrs, this was so perfumed out of the glass. At 90% whole cluster, it shows typical green/stemmy aromatics but it’s not the dominant note, trending toward green peppercorns, violets/potpurri, olive, and black cherries. Mineral notes, pepper, mix of red and black fruits, mocha, and so much verve on the palate, absolutely buzzing both days. This wine is floral and herbal but with so much power and balanced fruit…kind of a wild-ness to it that I loved. What a beautiful expression of Syrah. Killer.
Day two showed the whole cluster aromatics fade a bit, but it also showed the palate bulk up. So good. — 10 months ago
Meyer lemons, very light yellow peaches, apples, .
Intensely mineral on the palate.
Lots of yellow flowers, soft. Expansive.
Nice companion to a red curry rice bowl.
Delicious stuff. Definitely bigger and richer palate as it airs/warms.

Good price at warehouse so I snagged one for wiener schnitzel dinner w/ cateloupe, prosciutto, radicchio &fig salad. Opened to give it a lot of air. Cream soda dum dum, Fuji apple, hint of gasoline but not a lot. Goes onto a grapefruit/citrus thing and a nice cream soda finish. Mineral and wonderfully acidic. Need to find older bottles! — 4 years ago
Owes name to man of the cloth born in 1264, Bertrand de Goth, Bishop of Comminges, in the Pyrenees, later became Archbishop of Bordeaux in 1299. Blend, 57% Merlot, 38% Cab Sauv & 5% Petit Verdot & Cab Franc, aged in new French oak for 18 months. Pronounced youthful black fruit aromas with earthy baking spices. Blackberry & plum palate flavors with cedar & spice integrated with firm tannins, long ending, earthy oak with a mineral tang. Needs more bottle age! Tasting Sample! — 5 years ago
Big Tig fan. Hard to go wrong with this wine. Tannins are more subtle and it is more elegant. Usually young tignanello are straight forward super Tuscan powerhouses but this has a lot going on with cherry, spice , a little cedar with mineral at the end. — 7 years ago
Balance of citrus & mineral — 9 years ago
Really lovely. Rustic, brine, mineral. Not gonna overwhelm the tasting notes, just cause I really liked drinking it. — 10 years ago
