1hr+ decant. Bright red color. Massive floral nose with apricot. Well balanced with medium depth. Apples, olives, oranges, and peaches on the palate. If having blind, I’m pretty sure I would have gone white or at a minimum a massive Rose. Best comparison would be a floral Beaujolais. I don’t get any Syrah. Paired very nicely with lamb, peppers, and saffron rice. Would be lovely on a summer night. 93 and heading higher because I can’t seem to put the glass down, especially because of the lovely, unique smell! This unfiltered sav blanc has big bright acidity and bold flavors of lemon, lime, and grapefruit. Nice mouth watering finish — 12 years ago

First time trying this “villages” Chardonnay from Matthiasson. For the price quite nice. I think it satisfies the concept of a more accessible less expensive introduction to their Chardonnay - ie, a villages wine - quite well. Very good pairing with a goat cheese and broccolini tart. — 5 years ago
