My husband likes the really sharp, grapefruity sauv Blancs which I’m less enthused by so they suggested this at the wine shoppe, and I was pleasantly surprised. Nice and minerally but still has that sharper citrus element too. — 3 years ago
yup. what daily drinking Cali wine should be. excellent showing for the money. — 5 years ago
Sweet but not cloying. Delightful on its own, or in a fancy negroni. Probably the best vermouth I’ve had (though I am not an aficionado!) — 2 years ago
A lovely every day balanced red wine. Not to harsh for lighter meals not to light for red meats and game meals. — 4 years ago
Smells like Napa. Tastes like old world — 4 years ago
Lively, fresh, elegant. Nose of red fruits herbs, and spice. Great balance and acidity. — 5 years ago
Prolly missed the optimal window on this. Still interesting but lacking any fresh fruit qualities. — 7 years ago
One of the more interesting whites out there. Nice briney quality without any malo side effects. Great effort! — 7 years ago
This is why we love the Matthiasson’s, always experimenting, innovating, and refining!
1hr+ decant. Bright red color. Massive floral nose with apricot. Well balanced with medium depth. Apples, olives, oranges, and peaches on the palate. If having blind, I’m pretty sure I would have gone white or at a minimum a massive Rose. Best comparison would be a floral Beaujolais. I don’t get any Syrah. Paired very nicely with lamb, peppers, and saffron rice. Would be lovely on a summer night. 93 and heading higher because I can’t seem to put the glass down, especially because of the lovely, unique smell! Reminds me of a beer I once had but can’t recall its name. I find myself just continuing to write about this!! — 3 years ago
Whoa. So rich, textured. I want more. Stumbled on thanks to @Delectable Wine postings from @Bobby Gilbane & @Steve Matthiasson. — 7 years ago
Spice, cherries, chewy through middle, clean finish. Super enjoyable. — 9 years ago

Very dry and crisp without puckering. Exceptionally clean finish. Minerally, mild salinity. “Like you licked a rock out of the ocean,” says the waitress at the Catbird seat. — 2 years ago
