Amazing wine 😍...wasn't a little too young?
It was a bit young, yes, but surprisingly approachable nonetheless. I've never had a Chateau Chalon this young before and have to say it was a bit of a revelation - it seemed like a completely different wine; more of a fresh aperitif than a rich after-dinner drink.
Rich is the wrong word: less decadently dense maybe?

Absolutely fucking stunning! A clear peachy apricot to the rim with legs like a siren's tears; musty, freshly rained out soil, moss, truffles and shiitake, macadamia and chestnuts, with hints of orange zest and freshly picked rose pepper; beautify balanced acidity that initially cuts like a box-knife, only to gradually meld with the mouth-coating, oilily graceful and voluptuous body. I this wine were a book it would be Master and Margarita. If it were a piece of music it would be Stockhausen's Klavierstück IX! — 10 years ago
