2009 Screaming Eagle cabernet. The single Cal cab we drank during the K charity wine dinner. Massive wine- we decanted about 2 hours by the time it was served and it was still enormous. A little bit unfair to drink this after the '90 Cheval and '90 Rothschild. This wine was just all around bigger in every way- more fruit, riper fruit, heavy leather and tobacco, huge tannins, plus additional savory notes of olives, and game. Fun to try it in the order we did and definitely noted that we can decant for longer next time. — 10 years ago
Total beast. Did a quick double decant since it's 12 years old but should have let it open for a couple of hours. Eye watering nose of dirt, nutmeg, cinnamon, bramble, and camphor. Massive palate with plenty of fruit and tannin left. 45 second finish. What an awesome cab blend! — 10 years ago

Wow is initial impression! Massive tannin structure that opened after 1 hour in the glass. Beautifull black fruit component , great mouth feel. Probably the wine of the night, even with the Aubert and J Rochioli Pinots and the Maya 92... I give this a Commanding 98+ Rating in my book! Thanks Mr Larry! — 10 years ago
Pear, discreet spice, floral, honey finish, great acidity. A massive white. — 11 years ago
massive complex concentrated new wordish in style 2006 — 11 years ago

Color of dark burgundy, smell of nail polish, cassis, dark red fruits, pencil lead, charcoal, taste of mint, spice, fig, black tea and plum, medium acidity with firm and massive tannin, need long decant, medium to long finish. — 11 years ago
1945 vintage. What can I say? How often do you get to drink a wine made during WWII? A great experience courtesy of a friend with a massive wine collection. Wonderful experience. — 11 years ago
Massive, thick, warm — 11 years ago
Traditional styled, nutty, funky and floral. Massive tannins. Simply gorgeous and rustic — 13 years ago
2005.... has settled somewhat, fruit is now not as in your face, still needs time to integrate the massive oak here; however, overall this is a very good drinking experience — 8 years ago
This wine's so massive it's bigger than your mom! The acid is good too :) — 9 years ago
Chateau Latour is my favorite 1st Growth, they demand patience and inspire not just hedonistic pleasure but also analytical thought.
Both amazing but need massive amounts of air or another 15-20 years minimum in the cellar. I get the feeling they both will hit a plateau once they blossom and slowly move towards full maturity for decades.
The nose on the 2005 rose with little agitation and shot from the hip to nose with ease. By far the most youthful and I tense nose of the evening.
The 2000 was not dissimilar in its progression, if a bit more refined from the extra few years in the glass. A cerebral wine that was also deeply pleasurable, it kept bringing me to what this wine will be like in 15-20 or more years. Easily a 50 years wine from a macro view.

1997 Tenuta Dell'Ornellaia Masseto MLA Merlot. Drank at DR concert. This followed the 1986 Margaux. Definitely much bigger, just massive. Concentrated dark fruit, balanced with a nice earthiness. Despite its (relatively) intense structure, this wine drank beautifully, with a smooth, long finish. — 10 years ago
The nose is so feminine and perfumed with dark fruits, savory spices, and earth. Fuller bodied and structured with gripping tannins. Vineyard has southern orientation=warmer=more massive expression of Carignan — 10 years ago
Massive Stand out on a ridiculous wine evening — 11 years ago
The 2004 Quilceda Creek is a stunning wine, with a nose that evolves to reveal layers of boysenberry, cassis, charcoal, dark chocolate, pain grillé and exotic spice. Truly, this is among the best of Washington, there is a reason why Quilceda has attained cult status. On the palate, massive structure is deceptively cloaked in silky, velvety, inky overtones. Steeped blackberries, roasted black cherries and cedar intertwine to give lift, polish, and a most luxurious, elegant finish. The balance is impeccable. — 11 years ago
1997 Giacomo Conterno Monfortino Riserva Barolo. Two bottles at Sunday dinner at Toscana w K and crew. Great wine. Mellowed, but still fruity and tannic. Not as massive as the Solaia. — 11 years ago
2012 Roar Pinot. Drank during lunch w K, A&S at Tra Vigne. Apparently this wine is usually massive, but we were told this vintage was much more reserved. It was fantastic. Really enjoyed this wine! — 12 years ago
Didn’t live up to massive hype, but was enjoyable. Dark fruit and chocolate, yum! — 9 years ago
An absolute massive Bordeaux that needs soooo much more time but you can see the quality here — 11 years ago
Massive tannins. Even with 20 years of age, I feel like I opened it too soon. — 11 years ago
Silky and pure with massive red and blue fruit, crushed rock, mild graphite. What a great effort. — 11 years ago
Intense. Apple and pear. Spice and toast. Massive acid and structure. Towering. — 11 years ago

Drinking well now but needs about 30 min to open up and let the high alcohol blow off.
Typically Molly Dooker massive black and blue fruits.
