This wine is very special to me. Visited the Gagliasso family many times and love their wine and hospitality. I got this bottle at the winery and have had it in my basement until now. Christmas Eve seemed like the right time to have it. Anyway, drinking very nicely. — 8 years ago

1985 Giacosa Collina Rionda di Serralunga Nebbiolo. Group lunch at Ner w Hrtn, McC. Raisiny and pruney at first. More sweet than I tend to like. But it def mellowed and lost some of that cloying sweetness after some time in the decanted. We only decanted right before drinking and it prob could have used more time opening up. Deep, dark, balsamic fruit and fragrant scorched herbs on the nose. More sweet, dark, intense fruit, herbs and a little earth on the palate, with a long, very grippy finish. Already deliciously elegant with a promising future. Great stuff. — 9 years ago
