Marchesi Biscardo

Marchesi Antinori

Badia A Passignano Gran Selezione Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2001

Quite deep ruby , with a wide garnet rim, quite young looking. Dried herbs , smoked meat , red cherry, violets , liquorice and antique furniture polish notes . On the palate quite round and rich, sweet red fruits , with that herbal tinge , those liquorice and charcuterie notes also evident . This in fact still shows well a day later , still quite full and rich , with red plum and black cherry notes . Quite good acidity , with quite gritty tannins, balanced alcohol . Decent length . This is very good now though no rush , mature but will continue to show well for a while longer , from now over the next 5 years . Another T Wright Wine choice … see my De Fieuzal 1994 note — 5 months ago

Siepi Castello di Fonterutoli Toscana Super Tuscan Blend 2020

Medium bodied equal blend of Merlot and Sangiovese. Has a nice sense of place. Dark cherries, roses, tea, graphite and interesting sour spicy notes like sumac. A fair level of polish here that really makes it shine. — 10 months ago

you’d never think a sangiovese / merlot / cab sav / syrah mix at this price point would have so much life to it — 5 months ago

Castello di Fonterutoli Gran Selezione Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2016

Intense and still young chianti which started blossoming after 2hrs in the decanter. Spiced red fruit bonanza with black tea and forst floor. Very long and intense. Served with Italian Peposo beef stew, a sublime combination . — 7 months ago

Boscarelli (Marchesi de Ferrari Corradi)

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Sangiovese 2016

Medium ruby in color; cherries, black pepper, and smoke on the nose; high acidity; medium tannins; tastes like sour cherries, clay pots, and strawberries with a long finish. It really opened up after decanting for about an hour. Nellie says she likes the flavor, but it's really acidic. Should be great with a creamy pasta. I agree it's too acidic without food. — 9 months ago

I have just fallen in love with Barolo. Just try to drink them whenever the opportunity exists. Enjoying this fella with gnocchi in downtown Cleveland. Last night with my daughter before she starts her college swim career at Cleveland State. — 5 years ago
