Nice #RossodiMontalcino Light delicate color, matching palate and aromas.
Light red colors to the rim. Cherry & fresh herbs with some red licorice. High tart raspberries, lively acid and rose petals.

Just lovely. Very complex. Needs 45 minutes or so to open up and integrate. A strong bitter component integrates nicely with some time with the earthy notes, coffee, tar, herbs, dried dark fruit and minerals. Supple and elegant. Superb wine. A major hit with strong cheeses. — 9 years ago

2011, Domaine De La Grand Cour, Le Clos Cuvee Vielles Vignes, Fleurie Gamay. My first bottle from this producer. Wow, this is major Cru Beaujolais. Full bodied, complex, acidic, tannic finish. Tart red fruit, earthy, a little oak. Give me more! — 9 years ago

North Coast Syrah. And wow, seriously the best wine I've had in so very long. So surpassed expectations with the quiet tannins and wonderful bouquet. I wish they would crop dust major cities with this perfume. Pepper, violets and gameness. Sounds like small production so I'm worried this is one of the last bottles around. — 11 years ago
Shared this wine with friends last night
We all loved it - crisp and dry - a major step up from what we are used to — 11 years ago
Decanted 2 hrs. Deep maroon. Ripe dark fruit dominated by black licorice, anise and alcohol. Full bodied and acidic with velvety tannins. A very chewy wine with major cellaring potential. I'll lay the other two bottles down for 5-10 yrs. once it integrates I'm sure it'll be 93+ — 11 years ago
Delicious blend of all major reds! — 12 years ago
Always the most structured and backwards of the Girard Pernand 1er Cru's but also the deepest. Nose of deep strawberry, spice, mineral, but just beginning to open, needs hours, days to get there aromatically. Palate is tight, spicy and structured but fans out on the finish with excellent structure, deep, vibrant tannins, sappy, tangy and nice sweet fruit and lively acidity. Still, needs a major decant. Will revisit. — 9 years ago
Admit I'm a sucker for big chocolate driven Napa merlot. Still very young and needs major decanting. Lots of structure, red fruit and chocolate, coffee and tobacco that linger on the long finish — 9 years ago

For more than 40 years, Robert Mondavi Winery has been the symbol of Napa Valley. Founded in 1966, it was the first major winery built in Napa Valley in the 3 decades following the repeal of Prohibition, and went on to establish the foundation for modern California winemaking. Dark Ruby with aromas of red/black fruits and earthy spice. On the palate cherry and raspberry flavors with herb spice. Soft tannins on a savory frame carry the wine to a lingering finish. — 9 years ago
Brander vineyard, planted in 1975, is a quiet legend in the Santa Ynez AVA. The vineyard specializes in Bordeaux style wines, with major grape varietals consisting of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Sauvignon Blanc tends not to age well, so drink them within ~3 years of bottling. Warmer climate examples, typical of CA, tend towards grapefruit and tree fruit flavors and typically balance the young juice with high acid. This one was quite crisp and refreshing! ~$17 | #brander #sauvingnonblanc #santaynezvalley

Interesting. Major spearmint bomb on opening that persists beyond decant. Deep red color. Perfectly bodied for me. Medium and very smooth.
The nose is very complex. Under the spearmint there is a floral note, and something my brain identifies as turmeric.
No tannins.
I certainly wouldn't put this with a steak. But we are having Spanish tapas, and it works nicely with the spicier items. Otherwise, the spearmint is misplaced.
