Good balanced, good aftertaste of this wine blow you away. Purple color reminds young Saperavi or liquid consistency in the glass, or gouache concentrate.
Small tannins, low acidic, becoming elder would be jam.

2011 is a different story. Beautifully age-worthy tannins that give structure yet do not overwhelm. Balanced, velvety, and a nice genuine expression of Magliocco canino. — 12 years ago
12 Annibale Le Moire: from Calabria made from magliocco grape. Dark in colour, plush deep fruit w savoury/sage twist. Easy, medium length. Simple good drinking. — 12 years ago
I really enjoyed this! Great recommendation as it was really different. Massive allspice, cloves, and chocolate. Super smooth and thick. Great value at £24, so much so that I bought a bottle for the road! Best thing was the guy was a Blue Jays fan! Not many of those in London! — 7 years ago

Chiaroscuro Terre del Gufo / Terre di Cosenza 2012
Clear deep orange to bright red color with tear drop. Fascinating color.
First scents: pomegranate, cherry, cherry comport, dried dates, walnuts, raisins, dried pineapple.
Second notes: plum, red shiso (Japanese herbs ),
Third aroma: black olive, oil, sweet red fruits, ink, rubber, blood.
Crispy acid and deep powerful sweetly sour attack with nuance of fruits, barrel, olive oil, vanilla, woody or sherry like brewed hint. Good bitterness. Complexity. Interesting taste. — 10 years ago

Intense blend of rare varieties indigenous to Calabria (Gaglioppo, Aglianico, Magliocco Canino, Greco Nero and Nerello Capuccio) from the Odoardi vineyards on the hills of Savuto, facing the Tyrrhenian Sea. Delicious, earthy, savory and smokey, nice minerality, notes of olive (the Estate is planted with olive trees and grape vines) and leather (or salami really) — 7 years ago

Took this one to a bottle share and it was one of the top wines there. Drinking amazing now and glad I held onto it. Tons of life in it and it could've laid down for another several years just fine. No sign of secondary character yet. Earthy iron, and ripe blackberry. Needs Rosemary lamb!! — 10 years ago
